Heres a look at the cover art. With all the interesting visuals in this film, they could have done a lot better.
Hits stores on September 13th.

While I agree that the cover could have looked better, it also could have been much, much worse:

I liked the theatrical poster idea better. With them looking to the heavens, instead of looking at us.

Why - oh why do they always screw shite up?

Hopefully, if they do a proper 2-disc special edition, they'll make the box look like it's an actual Guide. Or am I expecting too much from the geniuses in the home video marketing department?

Good cover art can't make a mediocre film any better.

Very true. HITCHIKER'S is one of those rare cases where I might buy the DVD for the extras because although I wasn't that thrilled with the film itself, I did enjoy a lot of the design work, visual effects and characterizations...stuff that would hopefully be explored in the extras. Hopefully.

This begs me to ask. Is the BBC version worth checking out?

It's super-cheesey but I love it. Much more satisfying that the recent film adaptation. Plus, it continues into the second book, THE RESTAURANT AT THE END OF THE UNIVERSE.
