I mean, we BOTH saw THE SHALLOWS. How could we not record?

Saturday night, we make our triumphant return to the mics. Nick's seen LIGHTS OUT three times in preparation. That's the movie where the hero doesn't turn off the lights and wins.

I disbelieve you

About LIGHTS OUT? You're right - he's seen it four times.

If my calculations are correct, magic may be happening right this minute.

Calculations fail.

Sorry, I had to bail. We couldn't get together until late and my oldness failed the podcast. Hopefully sometime soon.

In the meantime, I've been listening to the Empire podcast, which is pretty great.

Um...we recorded. In a car, on the way to/from SUICIDE SQUAD.

It happened.

Props to Jon Tenney.

Heck yes it happened!

Yeehaah! Finally, people will once again give me weird looks on the tube and when I'm shopping.

YESSSSSSSSSSS.

I had a similar reaction to Ash vs Evil Dead. For the most part I enjoyed it, was pretty fun, but wanted more Ash and his tomfoolery and ultimately I probably won't check out season 2. Too much other, better television vying for my attention.

Not one of the better pods, but a good approximation of how me and Justin spend time together.

I'll call you when Wes Studi retweets me.

"Top Tenney" killed me.
Do you spoil PREACHER? Hoping to avoid spoilers on that show, although I don't really give a shit about SUICIDE SQUAD spoilers.

I think do spoil PREACHER...talk about the ending, at least.

Beware.

Like that we shook off the rust by talking about how great Scott Speedman is.

Several great Nunz-Puns in a row in there somewhere, but they've left my head already. Apologies. Thanks for the effort.

Again, all of us will listen to you two hanging out anytime you feel like randomly recording it. Because I suppose we're all friend-less IRL

We'll try to keep it up. I love Justin, but his hatred of bland whites is tough for me to handle.

Nick and Justin yapping it up is never going to not be worth listening to. The Guess Who Re-Tweeted Me bit had me laughing even knowing it was coming from the episode title.
Relistened to the latest ep on a road trip I took yesterday and the Guess Who Re-Tweeted Me bit got me again. So dang Nick and Justin. So dang CHUD Show.

Heartbreak for the entire country/world: we recorded last night and lost about a half-hour...which was all about the WISHMASTER series.

God damn it Steve.
But the other two and a quarter hours are good, right?

Sorry - we should have posted it here. Oversight!

Chock full of delights!

Two favorite moments so far:

"Used to Tate, used to Tate, used to Tate"

and

"Caviezel is a dogshit man."

But, Nick, you gotta give it to JC for more than just Frequency. He was an integral part in one of my most underrated movies of all time, Count of Monte Cristo. He was fantastic in that. Weird, I just realized that was another movie in which his character gets lashes to his back, repeatedly. A Caviezel trend?

Dave Davis being?

Edit: Wait, what did you say at about 11:40 with regards to updating the site Nick? Probably will happen or probably won't happen? My ears are bad from cranking Lucky Nightsticks at high volume and I've rewound and re-listened 5 times to that line and can't make it out.
Sorry to hear about your mother Nick. I knew she was ill but didn't know she was that bad.

Thanks for keeping the site going.

Man, it's windy here. Wait, what's that tree doing?? It's making weird hand gestures at me. Shit, the window! It's bending me over! Yeaaowwwwwhhhhhh What
the fuuuuuucckkkkk
Echoing the sentiments for your mother Nick. I know I already messaged you about it on FB, but want to add it here too.
Thanks for being so open about all this, Nick. Love you, Papa Bear.

Probably won't happen, sadly.

Almost done listening to the latest CHUD Show. So sorry to hear about your Mom, Nick.

And to say what others have said, thank you so much for keeping the site going.

I forgot all about that gun store joke fiasco.  Who the hell was that again? People can be so damn stupid.

This CHUD show should be required listening for all board members.

Watching your parents go through the challenges of the elderly...It is tough.

Great podcast. Really fills in a lot of gaps. And proves there needs to be a book on CHUD's history.

Gimme da money and I'll write it.

I kind of wish you had found Devin and punched him, Nick, but that's because I'm a terrible person.

I liked Jake, but I vividly recall Spike Marhall calling him a "sentient rape joke", which I thought was one of the more memorable and creative CHUD insults.

All I know is that I was horrified by the gun stuff and living where I live, made a big deal about pointing out the scary way they were being treated here. Jake should have known that. I only had good interaction with him, including drinks in LA. I don't know where the hell the hate came from but I can only assume it was inherited from someone else.

Nice to get your side on the split and some CHUD history, Nick. It's a shame the public blowup was so ugly and misconceptions lingered.

Does Dave Davis still write online, at Joblo or wherever? His brief CHUD era was a lot of fun.

I know how hard the cancer thing can be for a family. Thoughts and prayers to you and yours.

Anyone with a modicum of common sense would've gotten that the way it was intended. And TBH addressing the issues with humour the way you do, Nick, is probably one of the best way to handle things.

Chud is a place where some folks go for cathartic release, like Vincent Hannah at homicide scenes...

Was able to check this out this morning. So sorry to hear about your mother, Nick. I know it can feel ridiculous to deal with petty stuff sometimes when life and death stuff is going on within the family. I remember the tree rape situation but I guess the gun stuff flew right past me. I always felt like you've been pretty damn consistent through the years with how you represented yourself online. Anyone that chose to be offended by your humor clearly wasn't interested in actually getting any context, because otherwise they would know there was nothing there.

I enjoy hearing the history of CHUD type stuff, though it is kind of sad to hear the opportunities that were there but lost. I suppose every long time establishment has those types of stories, though. We've been truly lucky to have you all these years. Thanks for all the time you've put in to make our lives better.

This Jason Connery episode is SPEC-tacular. The best in quite some time. Classic Chud episode.

From Valmont to New Nightmare to Smitts Twitter... It's hard to not be invested in every word.

I'm also pleased to hear Nick speak his mind on the Devin situation, as watching it unfold years ago was intensely frustrating for some of us random dudes far away.

Please do another episode soon!

They're so good!

Sorry to hear about your Mom, Nick. Hope she is in as much comfort as possible given her condition.

Sorry to hear about your mother, Nick.  Finished both podcasts last night and had to come back to the boards for a quick comment.

Has the sites pageviews gone up even slightest from the recent events with Faraci?

Dunno about traffic. Don't really care right now.

I just want to maintain until a real option presents itself.
