Why doesn't Bard's Tale (new version) get more love

Ok, I just played and finished this game and I got to say it was funny. That what it was suppose to be and that what it was. Why don't I hear more people praising this game for its humor?

The are only two reasons I can guess.

1) Some people don't like that type of humor

2) The gameplay (which I will say I really didn't care for) got it the way of the comedy for most people

I hope they make Bard's Tale 2. And I also hope that someday someone will make fun of the Japanesse RPG's as well.

I think most people thought it was too short. I still haven't picked it up yet (it's running $30 still around here) but will once it drops down to $20, just for Cary.

This has been selling for $20 up here. I had been thinking about it, but it got pretty ripped in the reviews and didn't get a lot love on here. How long does it take to play through? Would you consider it more of a rental or a purchase?

Bard's Tale is $20 new at Best Buy and EB Games. If you have that $5 coupon from Mcdonald's for best buy.. you can get it New for $15 bucks.

That's my next purchase anyways.

I think the reason it doesn't get a lot of love is that, beyond having a great sense of humor, the game itself alternated between being lobotomized and monotonous, or completely asinine and obnoxiously incoherent in terms of gameplay. A good sense of humor is great if there's a good game to hang it on, like Psychonauts. But here, it was a half-assed dungeon crawler that thought it could get by solely on snappy writing and charm.
