Never heard of this until just now when i saw an article on Joblo about it! This is awesome! Stewie in his own dvd family guy movie! And it's being released on my birthday too! Exclamation mark!

They said they were gonna start making these and i never believed it, looks like i was wrong, now all we have to do is wait patiently for the Futurama dvd movies to start coming out...

haha, I would say plant...but well it's Family Guy, so it's ok. I'm still pissed on the fact that my girlfriend had me miss sundays eposide.

Definitely looking forward to this, I love how there wasn't a ton of rumor before the offical announcement. No "We're working on a script" or "Some of the voice actors want to do it." It was basically like "Its done, it's coming in September, enjoy."
post #4 of 23
Yeah - I agree - I was surprised that they had this in the can. Can't wait!

Man i was expecting way more excitement than this.

Newell mentions it in his Special Ed column, too. Here.

I hope if they send a review copy to CHUD that I get it. Not a lot of the review staff likes the show. I sure do.

Just watched it. great movie.
Can't wait to buy a copy when it comes out.

I can see why there wasn't any pre-hype from the cast/crew. it's like three episodes put together with a opening/closing to bookend it. I really enjoyed it though and will buy the DVD when it hits shelves in September.

Last I heard they are going to show it on Fox as three episodes on three consecutive Sundays, I think before it hits DVD. They said, though, that the TV version will not have all of the scenes the DVD has, and the DVD will be uncensored (cussing!).

I hope it's live action.

The 3 disc set will sell for $39.98 US ($54.98 CAN), and hit stores on November 29. The set will feature full frame video, with English/French Surround tracks, and English/French/Spanish subtitles.

Disc 1:

1. North by North Quahog
2. Fast Times at Buddy Cianci Jr. High
3. Blind Ambition
4. Don't Make Me Over

Disc 2:

1. The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire
2. Petarded
3. Brian the Bachelor
4. 8 Simple Rules for Buying My Teenage Daughter

Disc 3:

1. Breaking Out Is Hard to Do
2. Model Misbehavior
3. Stewie B. Goode
4. Bango Was His Name Oh
5. Stu & Stewie's Excellent Adventure

Extras include:

* Commentary tracks (episodes and participants aren't known at this time)
* Behind the Scenes with Stewie
* Ressurrection of Family Guy
* Deleted scenes
* Animatics
* Family Guy "Live In Las Vegas" Music Video
* And more!
I thought they could've waited a little while longer and included the new episodes airing this fall, the damn thing even includes the three episodes that comprise the "Direct to DVD" Family Guy movie. $40 for a 3 disc set with 13 episodes seems pretty high, even if it gets reduced by retailers.

I don't know about getting the Stewie DVD now, what with the possability of double dippery.

Already seen it. Friend of mine downloaded it. The film tries too hard. Most jokes miss big time, some are brilliant, the Laura-Flynn Boil joke comes to mind.

Feels like an extended episode. Still worth a look.

ign.com has five clips from the upcoming DVD:

Well, it is just three episodes originally meant for season 4 mashed together with a few swear words thrown in. I liked it.
post #15 of 23
I just finished watching it. In my version the swear words are bleeped out - kind of stupid. Anyhow - the monkey needs to be killed. The flashbacks got a little annoying. Overall worth checking out or buying if you like the show.

Silly question, but one I cannot seem to find the answer to. IS this film only available in full screen?
post #17 of 23
It was good but I expected a lot more vulgarity and obscenity.
post #18 of 23
There's [Censored] Audio 5.1 and [Uncensored] Audio 5.1 according to the language menu...

And where is this alternate audio commentary the regular commentary mentions and DVDanswers.com listed when it was announced?

Where the fuck are the fucking curse words?

The extras suck by the way.

It is only available in full frame. I bought this after work though I don't think I'll get around to watching it until the weekend. It's only $15 at Circuit City and if you bought it there they gave you a DVD with an episode of "Arrested Development" and "American Dad" on it. There's also an episode of "Stacked," proving there's good and bad in everything.

Watched it last night. I thought it was pretty funny, and every time someone said "fuck" it still caught me by surprise.

Yes, it was like 3 episodes back-to-back-to-back, but honestly, what did you expect? And the "before and after" party stuff was funny as well. One of my favorite lines was Quagmire in the old age home:

"Giggity giggity--oh, I just pooped a little."

Made me laugh plenty. It doesn't go overboard with the uncensored stuff but it's funny enough that it doesn't have to. I love Stewie's reaction when he's asked if FOX has plans to bring back "Futurama" because you know Macfarlane must get that question all the time for no valid reason.

The other bits I enjoyed:

-Randy Newman's new song for a Disney film.
-Stewie as Short Round in TEMPLE OF DOOM.
-The parody of "The Shield."
-"I'm Steve Allen, let's do this."
-Bugs Bunny's brutal slaying.
-The blinding of Ray Charles.
-Stewie at the Cubs/Marlins playoff game.
-Lion-O using his "Thundercats" sword for perverse purposes.
-Walt Disney momentarily coming back to the world of the living.
-Stewie's outrage at learning his future self reads "Parade" magazine.
-TIME TRAVEL INC. "Watch O.J. do it."
-Brian crossing the finish line at the Iditarod.
-The pile up as the women from "The View" go after the cheese cake.

It was cool to see all the people who did voices for the film during the credits. Even cooler when I realized that Michael Clarke Duncan was the voice of the stork.

Finally saw this last night. I loved it. It drags a little during the middle of the film, but picks up towards the end.

I think that this could have be way funnier, though.

"Who wears short shorts? I WEAR SHORT SHORTS!"
