I still refuse to pay $10 for a magazine but was wondering if anyone has played the Darkwatch demo yet? It better be good.

The May 2005 OXM had a Darkwatch demo (that I played and enjoyed). Is this a new demo?

Edited to add: I've played that demo over and over. If you want it, then send me a PM with your address and I'll pass it on.

I thought it was a new one, first time I'd seen it on the shelf at B&N. Maybe it's just an old one that had been floating around though.

This is a new demo. Short, but kinda neat.

Haven't played the Darkwatch demo, but the disc also has a Battlefield 2 online multiplayer demo. Having not played it yet, it was pretty enjoyable. I'm passing it around the office so everyone gets a try-out.

Yeah, new demo. Darkwatch is pretty cool, if VERY inspired by Halo. Ok, fuck it. It's Halo with vampire cowboys and a floaty double jump. It's pretty fun online, too.

Say, you know what we need for shit like this? A thread for individual games to play online. Throw in a time, your gamertag (or an ip address if it's a PC game) and what modes you'd be interested in playing. If only 'cause no one is in Snowblind and I want to get some major action going on in there.

That sounds like the best game ever.

Shit yeah, it does. You can hear your spurs jingle when you walk. AWESOME. Can Master Chief wear spurs? Fuck no. Well, probably. I guess they'd be space spurs. In space, no one can hear you jingle.

surprised as fuck that conker (8) scored higher than pirates (6) in their reviews. Had to check that score twice. pretty ass backwards right there man.

DANGIT!!! I got mine in the mail on friday. It's my last issue. I wanted to renew it ut I'm trying to cut back on some spending here and there and I realy don't tinker with the demos as much as I should. I ususally get them. Browse through real quick and then move on... and sometimes they don't even work properly. Never boiled one yet though.

Anyway, it being my last issue and all that I'm guessing they decided to punish me by NOT INCLUDING THE DEMO DISC.

D'oh!

And I really wanted to check out Darkwatch too, since I didn't get the last one to work. Somethig about changing the date and all that... just seemed like too much work. Egads!

Nanoblech, click the link below (discussion about the first Darkwatch demo from May). Instructions for how to play the demo is on post #10. It isn't too much work and well worth the little inconvenience.

I'll definitely give it a shot. I had trouble with it back then and saw that thread and I menat to get back to it and give it a shot. It's just one of those things I just never got to, and when video games are ivolved there's a ton of stuff I never got too. The last demo I actually tinkered with was the Pariah demo, which I think was from the same issue as the first Darkwatch demo. The one for last month, well, I don't even think I popped in the disc. I put it aside and I meant to get to it... haven't done it yet.

I know the clock/time deal is easy to do... just never got to it. I was playing up the lazy factor in that last post. heh heh.

Thanks for the info though. Now I've got some incentive to actually do it. No promises, but I've got some free time tonight, so we'll see what happens.
