if you count tv shows... David Boreanaz & Joss Weadon probably, haven't looked to see exacly who directed more episodes of those series... probably david fury but hey, i'm too lazy to look at 12:37 AM

movies only? hmm... Ben Affleck? and probably a tie between Brett Ratner & Michael Bay but don't hold me to these.. i'll come back and post in the afternoon as most of my DVD collection isn't setup online yet. I'll have to do that this week or next and i've lost so many dvd's its hard to remember what is in my current collection vs. what i used to have.

No shock here, Lundgren destroys the competition with 17 films. I think I only like 16 of them, how I got RED SCORPION I'll never know. DeNiro and Arnold tie for a distant second with 11 a piece.

As for directors Spielberg takes it with 6, narrowly defeating John Woo with 5.

Directors: Spielberg leads with 8. (the Indiana Jones Trilogy put him over). Lucas and Hayao Miyazaki are right behind with 6. Kevin Smith and Tarantino are tied for third with 5 each.

Actors: Too hard to determine. Especially at 1:30 in the morning.

Directors: Spielberg, Scorsese (due to the box set w/ Goodfellas Collector's Edition), George Lucas and James Cameron.

Actors: Harrison Ford takes up a lot of space.

I'll edit this if I take an exact count but I'd esitmate that Director is either Miike, Woo or Scorsese. Actor, it's a big race between Chow Yun Fat, Bill Murray, Eastwood, Pacino and DeNiro. I'd guess that Eastwood wins just on the strength of my love for westerns. There is an alarming number of Costner movies in there. I need help in that area.

Well, that was strangely surprising. There's a lot of three-counts (Romero, Fincher, Spielberg, Raimi, Linklater, Ridley Scott, Del Toro, Lynch) and then we get into the heavier hitters.

With four a piece are Cameron, Soderbergh and Jackie Chan of all people (he directed his best HK features). Then there's Tarantino, Scorsese and believe it or not Peter Jackson with 5 each. But the winner is Joel Coen with 6. And rightly so.

I must add though that while my DVD collection is fairly respectable, its still very much in its infancy because of my monthly take-home.

Actors? Hmm, well if we're not just talking about starring roles, then the results are quite interesting. Gibson and Cruise each have 4, though Gibson gets 5 if you count his Simpsons appearance. Also with 5 are Sam Rockwell (class) and Michael Beihn. Never realised I had such a high Biehn count (T1 & T2, Tombstone, The Abyss and Aliens). Also, highest ranking actresses Cate Blanchett and Sigourney Weaver with 5. There is a real lack of quality actresses around today.

Tom Hanks strikes out with 6, then butt buddies Brad Pitt and George Clooney each score 7 as does Jackie Chan. But the number one had to be Robert DeNiro with 11 shining appearances, and mostly leads in his case too. Sweet.

lots of directors tied for 4 or more so...

John Carpenter
John Woo
Spielberg
Peter Jackson
Fincher

Directors are tied at 3 each between Romero, Hooper, Tarantino, Schumacher and Shyamalan. Actor is Johnny Depp with 8. Clooney, Kidman, Cage and McCounaghey are pretty much tied for second (didn't count them all).

Directors: Spielberg, Kubrick
Actors: Harrison Ford, Christian Bale, Johnny Depp
post #13 of 20
Director: John Carpenter - 7, Dario Argento - 5, Kevin Smith - 4, Fincher, Lucas, Burton, McTiernan, Twohy, Rodriguez, Kieslowski - 3

Actors: John Cusak, Brad Pitt - 6, Affleck, Willis - 5, Jennifer Connelly, Julie Delpy - 4

I would almost be saddended by some of this but the diversity of my collection (a definite lack of shared actors and directors) makes me happy

I have 7 films starring Toshiro Mifune. Not nearly enough, the guy's a legend. Harrison Ford second.

Director-wise, probably a tie between Spielberg, Coppola and Kurosawa, which I'm quite proud of, followed closely by Lucas, Kubrick and Kenji Misumi (Lone Wolf & Cub).

According to Guzzlefish, but my collection has most directed with Kevin Smith and Hayao Miyazaki. Smith makes it with 7 becase I have Clerks and Clerks X. Which in truth really doesn't matter.

Most collected actor is Chow Yun Fat at 12. And I DO NOT have Bulletproof Monk. Haha!! A far second is Steve Buscemi with 8.
