Well, that was strangely surprising. There's a lot of three-counts (Romero, Fincher, Spielberg, Raimi, Linklater, Ridley Scott, Del Toro, Lynch) and then we get into the heavier hitters.
With four a piece are Cameron, Soderbergh and Jackie Chan of all people (he directed his best HK features). Then there's Tarantino, Scorsese and believe it or not Peter Jackson with 5 each. But the winner is Joel Coen with 6. And rightly so.
I must add though that while my DVD collection is fairly respectable, its still very much in its infancy because of my monthly take-home.
Actors? Hmm, well if we're not just talking about starring roles, then the results are quite interesting. Gibson and Cruise each have 4, though Gibson gets 5 if you count his Simpsons appearance. Also with 5 are Sam Rockwell (class) and Michael Beihn. Never realised I had such a high Biehn count (T1 & T2, Tombstone, The Abyss and Aliens). Also, highest ranking actresses Cate Blanchett and Sigourney Weaver with 5. There is a real lack of quality actresses around today.
Tom Hanks strikes out with 6, then butt buddies Brad Pitt and George Clooney each score 7 as does Jackie Chan. But the number one had to be Robert DeNiro with 11 shining appearances, and mostly leads in his case too. Sweet.
