I go with Dillon. He was the outsider and did his best to accomplish the task he was assigned. Plus, he has the best death scene in my book. He gets one arm blasted off, screams as anyone would, then regains his composure and takes another shot at the Predator with his remaining arm. Most people would have just kept right on screaming through the whole thing.

Most people aren't Carl Weathers. That man has got a stew goin'.

Amen to that.

And so, another Carl Weathers appreciation topic is born

My favourite.....that's a tough question. I don't honestly think i can say i have one fave (well apart from dutch because he's just a supreme badass with the immortal line "GET TO DEE CHOPPAH!").
One of my favourite things about predator is that almost all the squad members have their own little (or big) moments.

Cooke is awesome, his descent into warrior madness after Blain's death, his demise has a great suspense factor, you know he's going to die but you don't know how then suddenly BAM gets his skull blown in half.

Dillan is great because of the aforementioned death scene and the fact he is Carl Weathers.

Billy holds a special place because i remember the first time i watched predator, i was sure Billy was some kind of supreme badass, he was just brought across as the quiet and calm guy who'll rip it out when he needs to in a big way. So naturally when he decides to stand and fight against the predator i was pumped, completely certain i was about to witness one of the baddest-ass battles ever but what do we get? *billy cuts himself, cut to the others, hear a giant scream, billy dead*. I was sooooo disappointed, but i couldn't help but laugh at Billy's "big moment".

Blain - sexual tyrannosaurus, big ass gun. Need i say more?

i'll go with Ponco (spelling?), that little bitch almost survives the whole thing and is the only one to crack wise to the gov. of minn. mr. Ventura "you got time to duck?"

but yeah, both Dillian and Mac are great also.

Blain, he had all the best lines.

Mac is my favorite, mostly because he introduced "ghostin" to my vocab. plus instead of shitting his pants at the sight of Predator like the rest of them, his much cooler response was to become UNHINGED. later he would find love in the arms of a Vulcan Minigun.

Honorable mentions to Dillon and Blaine. Billy's death never sat right with me, going out like a screaming bitch was just outta character.

How could we forget poor Hawkins.

"It's as big as a house!"

"Geez you gotta big pussy, geez you gotta big pussy"

Shane Black is fantastic.

Anyways, gotta stick with Dillon. He's was so sleazy, yet, I felt bad when he got offed. Maybe it is the Carl Weathers factor.

Here's my fave, from my days on the 'MS Paint favorite movie scenes' thread:

Sorry, friends, but I'm afraid that Bill Duke wins this round. Me and my brother used to always joke about how Mac was going to "bleed you".

Tie between Billy and Blain.

Dillon deserves props too. That brief arm wrestling match he has with Dutch at the start is a cool scene.

I do like Hawkins, but I think it's mainly for reading the "Sgt. Rock" comic in the credits. Though Mac came off well there by offering his flask to the audience. More movies should do that with their credits.

love those end credits so much. I just wish they could've got Arnold to do the turning around concerned face, then acknowledgement face, then finally big news anchor smile face.

Dillon has the best one of those.

LIke this?

I vote for Mac. He got to level half the jungle with the cannon, then go insane and charge off after the Predator. It didn't work, but he got some great lines in.

"You know whoever got you.... he'll come back again, and when he does I'm gonna cut your name right into him. - I'm gonna cut. your. naaame into him."

No love for Dutch? Come on, he had the sack to call an interstellar big-game hunter "one ugly motherfucker" to its face.

But I have to agree with many other posters here: Billy kicks ass. Slashing himself before he faces off against the Predator is tough stuff.

And props to Hawkins. I like that he got that single moment where he caught the ball without looking to prove he had some skills.

Another vote for Mac.

Am I the only one who sided with Kevin Peter Hall?
probably, given that he wasn't a PREDATOR SQUAD MEMBER.

Hall showed more range in HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS. He filled out the suit nicely but the design and the effects are what sold the Predator.
Compare Hall's portrayal of an actual interstellar hunter in both movies to the stiff, thick-shouldered 'thug-in-a-suit' Predators of AvP: Hall did a brilliant job.
as good as Hall was, I sometimes wonder what Frank Cujo could have brought to the table had he stayed on...

If Cujo had stayed in the role we would have had at least one spectacular shot of the Predator doing the splits. In addition the creature's forehead would have been a lot more bumby.
on the bright side though we were spared a gratuitous Predator asscheeks shot.
