I know I'm the only who cares but...

...I'm so excited for the new SE of The Emperor's New Groove.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you destroy your credibility completely.
Nothing to be ashamed of there. Groove is the best Warner Brothers cartoon made since the 1950s.
Wait, we are talking about David Spade as a llama, right? 'Cause if so, I fucking love that movie. And there's a SE coming out? Is it better than the old, gold CE? That's the one I have.
So...are you guys being serious? If so, I might check it out some time.
I think this movie was generally liked by everyone who actually saw it.

And a New SE? They put a two disc out years ago that pretty much covered everything.
The Emperor's New Groove and Lilo & Stitch are the two best Disney movies since Beauty & The Beast. Groove is extremely rewatchable, with great character designs, jokes, backgrounds, and animations.

"Excuse me, I've been turned into a cow, can I go home?"

"Yes, you may leave. What about the rest of you?"

This movie is great.
It sounds like we're forming a support group here, because I like that movie a lot too. But another special edition? It better have something pretty damn impressive to make me buy it again. The previous two-disc release seemed to have covered the bases pretty well.

this "New SE" sounds like the single disc that was released years ago. But with an exclusive look at "Kronk's New Groove"!

Quote:
Disney has also announced a new special edition of The Emperer's New Groove which features the voices of David Spade, John Goodman and Eartha Kitt. The disc will be available to own from the 18th October, and should be priced at around $29.99. The film will be presented in 1.66:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track. As well as collectible packaging, the set will include an audio commentary from director Mark Dindal and producer Randy Fulmer, a deleted scene (Destruction of Pacha's Village), a behind the scenes feature on the character voices and computer imagery, and Sting's Making the Music video, featuring the Academy Award nominated song "My Funny Friend and Me". Completing the package will be a Rascal Flatts’ music video featuring the song “Walk The Llama Llama” where viewers can learn to do the “Walk the Llama Llama” dance, a set top game with the voice talents of Kronk (Patrick Warburton) and Yzma (Eartha Kitt), a playable game demo and a sneak peek at Disney’s upcoming movie “Kronk’s New Groove”. Stay tuned for the official package artwork.

This is the one with the gigantic dumbass dude who talks to squirrels, right?

"Hmm, squeek-squeekity sqeekin'?"

That was some funny shit. Yeah, I liked this film plenty, the design was lush. Should give it another go...

After I saw this, I was convinced that Warburton should play The Tick. And then he did. And there was much rejoicing.

One of the few non- Pixar Disney animated films I've seen more than once, much less sat all the way through.

"Beware the grooooove. The grooooooove".

Classic.
It's the best thing David Spade has ever done. I really need to check this movie out again, I haven't seen it since it was out in theatres.

"The Ultimate Groove" was one of the first DVDs I ever bought. From the description below, this new one doesn't look any different. The only way they could really improve significantly on the first release is if they included The Sweatbox, which is highly improbable.

The Emperor's New Groove is definitely a gem. "No, no. He's got a point."

Kronk is the best. We watch this one quite a bit at home.

Stuff like this just makes the movie:

Yzma: Kronk! Why did I think you could do this? This one simple thing. It's like I'm talking to a monkey.
Kronk's Shoulder Angel: Whoa now!
Yzma: A really, really big, stupid monkey named Kronk!
Kronk's Shoulder Devil: Ouch.
Yzma: And do you want to know something else? I've never liked your spinach puffs.
[Kronk, his Shoulder Angel, and his Shoulder Devil all simultaneously gasp]
Yzma: Never!
[Kronk begins to cry]
Kronk's Shoulder Devil: That's it.
[cocks pitchfork like a gun]
Kronk's Shoulder Devil: She's goin' down.

Yeah. Everything he said, except for that Lilo & Stitch part.
The great thing about Groove, and to a lesser extent Lilo & Stitch is that none of the higher ups at Disney really cared much about them. Groove, originally, was going to be a more somber full musical called "Kingdom of the Sun", but it was turning out to be crap. The boss men were so focused on Pixar and the newly formed rivalry with Dreamworks that when the director of ENG completely switched focus into a Looney Tunes-esque comedy, nobody cared. So they ended up making the movie they wanted to make, rather than making a movie designed to have a hundred cute plush tie-ins.

"He's trying to lead you down the path of righteousness. I'm gonna lead you down the path that ROCKS!"

I'll also join this support group. Still the most underrated Disney flick in their recent library, with Atlantis a close second.

And I'm with BobClark on the Lilo and Stitch thing.

That's fine. You two can be wrong together.
Fine. We will.

Well okay then.

I can smell the love in here. Smells THICK.

And it tastes like finely cured beef jerky.

Or shoe leather.

I saw the Emperor's New Groove in the theater and liked it. then I got the Ultimate dvd and fell in love with it. There are tons of great lines and a lot of them have been mentioned. Now I'm gonna have to watch it again soon. I've been meaning to anyway.

Kronk does indeed rock, but I don't know if we need Kronk's New Groove. This is the first I've heard of it but it sounds like more Disney Direct to Video Dreck. Oh well.

I remember laughing out loud the most at the strangest thing when I saw it in the theater. There was the part near the end when the emperor kept getting turned into different animals while trying to run away. He got turned into a turtle and was stil trying to run away, but he was so slooooow. The slow movement and the look on his face just had me in stitches. I lost it. I was the only one... but it was good.

What makes this movie a gem is the amount of subtle jokes they cram into the frame, which reveal themselves on repeat viewings. When Kronk was carrying Kuzco in the bag, and held that note as he froze against the wall when the two people walked by, I laughed. I laughed again in a subsequent viewing when I noticed that he stopped under the only street light in the entire frame. The joke was even funnier when I finally noticed the background image of those two gigantic figures pointing directly where he was standing.

My friend had seen it at least a dozen times, and he thought he had caught every joke in the movie, until I showed him the potted plant behind Yzma in the dinner scene.

Any movie that can throw surprises at you like that after multiple viewings is gold.

Simply, one of the funniest gags ever in any Disney movie, bar none. That was the scene that made me back up the disk.

there is obviously no shame in loving emperor's new groove, the movie is hilarious.

'its your BIRTHDAY?!'

Now I wonder if Chicken Little will turn out to be any good....

The moment in the trailer that made it absolutely IMPARATIVE that I see the movie is them floating down the river and this gem of dialogue appears.

"Uh-oh."
"Don't tell me. We're about to go over a huge waterfall."
"Yep."
"Sharp rocks at the bottom?"
"Most likely."
"Bring it on."

And THAT's what sold the movie to me.
Nothing but love for this, the whole plan to kill the emperor by turning him into a flee and then mailing him to herself to smash it with a hammer rules.....

I must've seen the trailer a few hundred times in theaters, and my thought on this clip was, "OK, they managed ONE funny line, but it's probably the only good gag in the whole damn movie." I couldn't have been more wrong.

The other big turnaround for me was David Spade. Couldn't stand him before the movie, but since then, I even like his "NO" commercials because his voice instantly clicks for me as Kuzko.

"*gasp* My spinach puffs!!!" This movie killed me the first time i saw it. Can't wait.

I can't believe I didn't mention this quote earlier, since it's the one I repeat most often by far -

"Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight....."
