Film Threat's 3rd installment: Article on ethics

If you haven't been keeping up with this, you should be, as it affects CHUD, CA, AICN, and even more highbrow/legitimate sites like Film Threat (not that CHUD and CA aren't legit, it's just that we don't have the formal monetary backing like Film Threat does). Editor Chris Gore and writer Ron Wells have done a good job of keeping this fair while at the same time not pulling any punches in their review of the lack of journalistic ethics on the part of...oh, I dunno, some other website out there...

This article amazed me. Informative, intelligent, and it showed actual proof of what has been going on behind the curtain. It exposes the truth and proves the point we all want to prove. I was amazed and shocked at the level of which AICN has sunk to. When I first heard about the fight between CA and AICN, I thought it counldn't get any worse. BRAVO for showing the truth

Another scary thing....Moriarty could pass off as Harry's twin. Is that a standard requirement to be a contributor over there?

Yea... I had no idea about the whole bootleg thing. Does this guy not think that people will figure out who is leaking them? I like the ending on the article. Harry needs to read CHUD and Comming Attractions more offten and figure out that the movie hungry public is moreinterested in informative news about movies, not poorly written accounts of how a movie company kissed his ass to get a good review on his site...

You know, for frozen peice of seafood you have a damn good point. What we as the readers have to do is decide for ourselves. If people like Harry continue to get a ton of hits, he'll continue to write his asskiss articles. In the end, it is our decision who's news carries the weight in Hollywood. Corny I know, but true.

Hey, Re-Sea: I understand the Devil's Advocate position that you were trying to take, but what swings Film Threat's validity is that A)it was a print magazine (actually, 3 print magazines) LONG before it was on the internet, B)Chris Gore has a TV show where he very OBVIOUSLY isn't being bribed by anyone (because he and his panel hate crap, and are not afraid to say it), and C)I am utterly biased because I read Film Threat for years, and now Chris and I communicate frequently, and one of my best friends writes for him...

So that whole "I read it on the net" thing is a little more justified when you can just say "I read it in Film Threat". Hollywood still sees them as a legitimate force, because their partying and irreverence are legendary enough to be remembered EVEN today, and H'wood's memory is about 7.2 minutes long.

That's all, just stickin' up for my homies...
