Creepshow 3 In The Making

I have two things to say concerning this...

1. Jesus titty fucking christ!

2. About goddamn time!

Article 1 - http://www.fanboyplanet.com/derek/mc-creepshow3.php

"I think I heard rumors about this at Comic-Con. It may be hard to fathom, but this project seems to be so under the radar that the Internet Movie Database has nothing -- NOTHING, I tell you -- on it at all.

But today in my mailbox came an e-mail from someone close to the production with some information, a logo and a nice still. So...

Principal photography has just finished on the third film in the franchise started by the team of Stephen King and George A. Romero. Though Romero had been interested in working on a third Creepshow, we have no information on whether or not he now has any participation. Just as in previous installments, the movie follows an anthology format, with five stories interconnected, according to our scooper, "...in some creepy fashion."

The aptly named CreepyFilms company has produced the film shot on the backlot of Universal Studios. Special FX and make-up will be done by Greg McDougal, who has worked on War of the Worlds, Seed of Chucky and several recent Stan Winston productions.

Ana Clavell and James Dudelson co-directed. If Dudelson's name sounds familiar, it's because he's been attached to produce the remake of Day of the Dead in addition to a prequel/sequel called Contagium."

Article 2 - http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/4412

"Creepshow 3 - the third installment to the George Romero/Stephen King original - just completed principal photography on the backlot of Universal Studios. The film is based on the format of the original, featuring five creepy new stories to add to the already classic anthology.

The film is being produced by CreepyFilms and is directed by Ana Clavell and James Dudelson (who is also slated to produce the upcoming big budget Day of the Dead remake with Emmett/Furla Films, producers of the recent Amityville Horror and Wicker Man remakes)

A thrity minute teaser will be screened for execs at The American Film Market (AFM) in November 2005.

Without involvement of King and Romero, I can't think of how this isn't just a cheap cash-in on the Creepshow name. The original perfectly captured King's sense of humor and mean streak with some sharp little stories. It had a great cast, director, and writer. There's no pedigree with this third entry. However well-intentioned the production company may be, it sounds like a weak mercenary job.

A buddy of mine is an extra in this flick. He plays a heroin addict who gets tossed out a window.

This is very long in the making. I hope it turns out good. It'll be tough to beat the original.

George Romero gets screwed AGAIN!

Creepshow 1 was great the 2nd was good (I liked the story "The Raft"). Well with out King and Romero the 3rd will probably be crappy.

That's the bottom line.

This film will have to be impressive (one could argue innovative) to avoid any kind of Sometimes They Come Back... For More!-type stigma. Because otherwise, it's just a blah DTV horror film.

If this had been annouced about 15 years ago I might had been excited (well, after part 2 maybe not so excited) but for now i'm as enthused about this as I am another installment in the Hellraiser raping.

From the articles linked in the first post it appers that neither King nor Romero have anything to do with the project. However, the producers hold the right to include a "based on characters and concepts created by Stephen King" in the credits which I'm sure they will use to boost direct to video sales.

Man, even the cover looks like shit.

The people who made Creepshow 3 are like lousy roomates who just use up and break your shit while you're out, and they don't think there's anything wrong with it. They also smell like spoiled milk.

Not sure King's involvement would've helped much, anyway, unless one or more of the stories in the film was based on one of his short stories. I mean, 'Thanks for the ride, lady" makes me laugh to think about sometimes. But it shouldn't be as funny as it is scary, should it? And "Chief Wooden Head"? I know EC wasn't exactly a font of originality in its plotlines, but that was just such a hacky, predicyable piece of shit. . . I agree 'The Raft" was the only thing that saved it. Maybe "The Monkey" or "The Jaunt" would have made good stories here. But alas. . . I shudder to think what crap they're gonna churn out.

I've seen this and it's bad, I mean really really REALLY bad. And not in a fun bad, but in a bad bad. A bad that you just want to forget you ever heard there was a Creepshow 3 bad.

I'm a huge fan of horror films and I can embrace cheesy and crappy horror films alongside the good ones. But this is just pure and utter crap. It plays out like a really boring tv show. They had this rich background of E.C comics imagery and story telling techniques to draw upon that the first Creepshow emulated with great success, the second film not so much. But still it stuck with the creepy character introducing odd tales to the audience, layering the stories into comic book like themes. I have no idea what the people that made this were thinking because they threw that entire concept right out the window in favor of an intro animation that looks like something made by a third grader using photoshop and inspired by South Park looking characters. Nevermind the horrible cover with ridiculously generic Todd Mcfarlane rip off art. I really want to know why they had to tag this piece of shit movie with the Creepshow title, because outside of this being an anthology of short plots, it shows no signs of being interested in adding to the 2 previous films.

I think this is more a case of some really bad film makers stealing the Creepshow title in order to falsely build excitement over their fucking horrrible anthology of crap stories.

At worst I was expecting something along the lines of the weaker episodes of Masters Of Horror, instead we get something that is a complete embarrassment, waste of time and pisses all over, up, down, sideways, backwards, forwards, and inside the Creepshow franchise. Not that it was some sacred thing to begin with but it held a special place for me and the two films were some of my favorite horror films from the 80's.

To whoever made this piece of shit and wasted a chance at reviving a great anthology series, fuck you.

Can't they just put the money into giving the first one a UK dvd release instead?

I'm glad to hear you saw this and it's as bad as it sounded. I went to the Creepshow 3 "official site" and it was horrible, they had clips from 3 of the stories and I only watched part of one "Alice" and it was really bad, goofy and cheap looking. It didn't seem remotely scary or interesting. Some girl's dad has a TV controler and it changes the way her family looks to her or some crap.... WOW bad.

Didn't Adam Sandler do that already? With a remote provided to him by that provider of all good things, Christopher Walken?

It's about a hot dog. Not a canine.

I saw the trailer the other day and I was just dumbfounded by it. It looks just awful. It's below low budget which is terrifying at best. It's like the decided half way through making it they didn't give a shit and threw anything in there.
Shame really, cause Creepshow is one of the few films to actually manage to do as the name said, and creep me out.

Tsk Tsk!
