I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed that this managed to have less interest than the latest Vin Diesel movie announcement.

I'm interested, just not sure what I think about it. On the Road is such a benchmark book for me, as I'm sure it is for a lot of people. I think it could be turned into an interesting film nonetheless, and anything that will boost interest in the book for younger people is great. I remember about fifteen years ago when Coppola was supposed to make it, and I think even got as far as casting. Of course, I didn't read it until a few years later, but I still think it could be turned into a swell movie, just hope they don't try and condense it so much, because if it works, I would gladly sit through a three hour plus On the Road picture.

Casting suggestions? Predictions?

He's already been mentioned in one rumor today, but Sam Rockwell as Dean Moriarty?

Am I the only one that thought Salles' DARK WATER was superior to the original? I can see what he didn't approve of (as the 'scare moments' are the least interesting elements of the film), but Salles crafted an elegant tale of single mom inner city panic, particularly because I have a relative who's in a similar situation, sans ghosts.
