The Woman in Black

Surely one of the scariest things put to film and shown on television. For those of you who haven't heard of it, this is a british programme based on a novel by Susan Hill about a young soliciter who comes to the house of a deceased spinster, to put her affairs in order, only to find a spectre of a woman in black is following him...

That's as simple as I can put it, here's a website

The BBC production, which was shown in america several years ago, is one of the few truly frightening movies...imo, not so scary while one is watching it, but late at night when one wakes up.

So, has anyone else seen this? For those who haven't I recommend you do (unfortunately its hard to in the US )

Here's a link for the movie...

Interesting. Amazon shows it's limited on DVD, but I think this one might be worth hunting down.

This may sound like a dumb question, but does this continue the tradition of the Hammer films? Is it in the same vein, I mean?

One: yeah, teh dvd is really hard to get a hold of, I have it on tape somewhere, and when I find it I may have it converted to keep it for prosterity sake. Also, most dvds of it are R2.

Two: Hammer films? ahhhh, what vein are they on?
