My top contenders:

- The Nazi monkey who eats the wrong date from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

- Bart the Bear from The Edge.

- The orangutaun from Clint Eastwood's Every Which Way... flicks.

The dog and cat from Milo and Otis.

Oh...wait...

The crow in THE CROW.

Tigers are the most cinematic of all animals. Great performances by tigers in DONNIE BRASCO, DOUBLE TEAM, and GLADIATOR.

The wolf-dog's performance in Carpenter's The Thing really sticks with me. That was a dog-wolf hybrid with some serious stage presence.

"Jonesy" from Alien was pretty convincing too. I really believed he was a cat, and not just a flashy effect.

Hooch. Hands down the best dog death scene EVER.

Asta, in any one of the Thin Man movies. That dog is crazy smart.

Babe. No contest.

Can a brother get a "Baa-Ram-Ewe" here?

I actually enjoyed that monkey more when he originally took a stab at hockey in the first MVP.

The dog that chewed on Ben Stiller's balls in "There's Something About Mary" and then flew out hte window. Unbeatable.

agreed on Huskie-Thing. a charismatic player from the Eastwood "don't just do something, stand there" school of acting.

my nom goes to that turtle from Cannibal Holocaust. a real gutsy performer.

The cat who said "You are going to die" in Go really sold that moment.

The fat cat in a sweater in that Adam Sandler-Jack Nicholson movie. The one laugh of the whole film.
The dog who played Old Yeller, for the rabies scene. Heartbreaking.
I was thinking about Båtsman (the dog, for those of you not familiar with Astrid Lindgren) being bit by a rabid seagull and then going on a Saltkråkan-wide rampage.
He'd still be feasting on Skrållan's bones when farbror Melker caves his head in with an oar.
Cujo 2: Så går det till på Saltkråkan.
