Remake the Highlander

Outside of the first movie and the tv show this franchise sucks. I say make three movies dealing with his 500 years of being immortal. The first one deals with his traing and leaving Scottland behind, Two deals with his time in Japan and meeting the Krugen, and three is the Climax

This is actually one of the few movies out there that I would truly support getting remade, as the original movie completely failed to live up to its premise and the swordfighting is ass, which is a damn shame. The only thing is I'd wait for at least another ten or fifteen years at least before even thinking about a remake, if only to give enough time to remove it from the original franchise.

Ask anyone under 20, they won't have seen Highlander. They'll only have a vague idea of the concept. Most over 25 only remember the premise.

This is a no-brainer. The first one is an waful movie with a great idea. Get a director who can shoot sword fights and it could be great.

I suggest The Wachowskis.

The first film is fine for what it was. Leave it alone.

And fab? Quadrilogies are the new trilogies in Hollywood.

It's too soon, much too soon.

The first one is a B-movie with a great premise. I'll agree that it doesn't live up to its full potential, but I still thinks it's pretty worthwile. Movies 2, 3, 4 are all crap. I've seen about one season of the first TV show and one season of Raven, neither show managed to catch my interest.

I checked imdb; There is a cartoon too? I had no idea. [irony]'Cos there's nothing in the premise that might be unsuitable for kids.[/irony]

I'm all for a remake, even though it's a childhood favorite (the FIRST one that is).

What is of premordial importance is that in the remake the hero (who will surely be casted as a South Central-raised youth of x racial feature finely suited for a certain targeted demographic audience) has to wear white Converse shoes. You can't do a highlander without them.
Fuck, isn't there a D&D rule somewhere that give you a +4 with a sword while wearing pair of white Converse ?
