i have watched over zombi 2 again today for like the millionth time and i noticed alot of things that i never caught before.
near the begining when Menard is talking to his drunken wife, his wife says something like "i'm going to tell everyone what it is that you are doing here...". then menard slaps her and he says something about his "research".
when Peter company arrive on the island and meet Dr. Menard, Lucas drops by and says "something happened to Mr. Fritz", then Lucas says something unintelligible(in another language perhaps to hide it?) and Dr. Menard agrees with him. when he turns around to talk to Peter and friends, he seems a bit nervous, almost as if he is hiding something.
later, when Peter and friends arrive at Menards cottage, Brian says "the doctor is doing ok by the look of it". then Peter says "But there is something fishy about him".
there's some more scenes like this in the movie, but i can't think of any right now. anyway, all of these subtle scenes seem to point to the fact that Dr. Menard is somehow causing the zombie plague. perhaps he was working on a drug that got out of control and ended up infecting everyone? or worse still, was the boat he sent in the begining a crude biological weapon, in the form of a zombie?
