One of the great things about this site is that there is a genuine appreciation for Al Leong, a tremendous amount of respect for Branscomb Richmond, and even a few misty eyes when the name Danny Trejo is brought up. Well there is another one of these guys who has been working for a while now in film and TV who deserves some genuine praise. Most people would call him crazy tattooed guy, but his name is Robert Lasardo. Here's a picture of the man that might jog a few memories:

I respect this guy because by turning his body into a living painting he severely limits the type of roles he can play. I doubt he'll ever be cast as a doctor, lawyer, or ice cream man. I guess he could play an auto mechanic but that's about as normal a character as he'll probably be given the chance to play. But so what? If you're going to be a heavily tattooed actor you might as well be the best heavily tattooed actor around.
Some of Mr. Lasardo's film highlights include the following:
-Guy who joins up with Christopher Walken after Walken kills his boss in KING OF NEW YORK.
-Guy who has his foot twisted like a pretzel in HARD TO KILL.
-Guy who is shot with a paint gun by Natalie Portman, and then with a real gun by Jean Reno in THE PROFESSIONAL.
It should be noted that his appearance in THE PROFESSIONAL can only be seen in the uncut LEON version. It's a truly funny scene and Lasardo is great in his few minutes of screen time.
Lately he has been racking up an impressive list of TV credits, such as:
-A bounty hunter who goes into business with the Strike Team on "The Shield."
-The first fugitive hunted down on the recent series "Wanted."
-Escobar the drug dealer on "Nip/Tuck."
It's his work on "Nip/Tuck" where Lasardo has really come into his own. I hope he makes some sort of appearance, dream sequence or otherwise, on the upcoming season of the show.
In the near future for Lasardo is a film titled DIRTY. The cast includes Cuba Gooding Jr, Cole Hauser, and Keith David. With a cast like that I don't know if that film will be in theaters or not but I know I'll be watching and I'll be hoping that Robert Lasardo wears short sleeves and dies in a viscous fashion.
