Movies with stuff after the end credits... - Page 2

Joe Dante's older movies usually include a little moment after the end credits.
I remeber that John Candy/Dan Ackroyd film about their families camping together had something to do with Squirrels talking in subtitles.

I would also like to join the Young Sherlock Holmes appreaciation society.
Lets make T-Shirts!
That is still my fave on screen pairing of Holmes and Watson.

Yeah, Great Outdoors. A funny film and the raccoons were hilarious.

Sure, the thread's a year old, but who cares?

I was a uber He-Man nut and about 8 years old when the film came out, so my dad took me to see it.

I didn't even realize there was a post-credits sequence until I accidentally caught it whilst recording it off Showtime during a free weekend.

Frank Langella was such a ham in that movie.
I did end up buying the disc. I appreciated the movie more now because I realize that a He-Man flick should be goofy. But that bit after the credits was sort of lame, made even lamer by the fact that there was no sequel.

Off-topic: Have you read Concrete: Fragile Creature? It's not officially He-Man related, but it's a nice sideways appreciation of the film. Also, the book does feature the equivalent of a post-credits sequence, and a very nice one at that.
Maybe the greatest one: Mystery Science Theatre 3000: The Movie.

"I don't know why people always leave during the credits. I hate that!"

"Puppet wranglers? There weren't any puppets in this movie!"

I've never read it, but just glancing at a synopsis it sounds like a trip. I'll add it to my list of stuff to pick up when I want the free shipping option from Amazon.

What I learned today, I really got to fast forward to the end of movies when I watch them. I always forget.
Not to forget the horrid after end credit scene in X-Men 3.

Way to go Fox for killing of a potential great franchise, exessively stating that this is the final one, period............Killing of tentpoles of the series and then...
What the Fuck? Is this supposed to be a twist? A nod to the fans?
Or just a shameless backdoor to milk generations of nerds to come....?

AMAZON WOMEN ON THE MOON (1988) has a post-end credit sketch by Joe Dante that spoofs 1930s youth pregnancy reels, starring Paul Bartel and Carrie Fisher. Funny stuff, but I'm sure all four people in the theater left before it started.

Takeshi Kitano's SONATINE (1993) has a single shot of a beach where much of the previous action went down. I don't know why it's there -- or why it was positioned after the credits -- but it's haunting.

TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A. (1986) has a shot of William Petersen after the credits, to continue the idea that the character's amoral soul has, in a sense, passed into his treasury agent partner (John Pankow).

Steven Soderbergh's FULL FRONTAL (2002) ends with Brad Pitt alerting the audience that they've reached the "apex of the drama". In the theater this bit played so goofy and unexpected I couldn't help but laugh. The three other people in the theater weren't as amused.
Slither has a bit at the end of the credits. Maybe hinting at a sequal though I don't knw if the movie did well enough to merit one.

"The Social Disease"?

street fighter-better than what preceded the credits
possibly mortal kombat-if so, lame
baseketball-pretty funny
scary movie-dooftastic

Throw CRANK on the list.
The deleted (and shitty) original ending of Clerks has an after-credits scene of Kevin Smith (NOT as Silent Bob) stealing cigarettes after Dante dies.
The Sword and the Sorcerer... it promised us a sequel. I'm still waiting.

I might have to update my list sometime.

PotC: Dead Man's Chest has a super short bit as well.

Jackie Chan movies always have the outtakes - do those count?

Isn't there one at the end of Goonies? and Johnny Dangerously? My mind is pretty much a steel sieve these days and I haven't seen these movies in a long time.

Add me to the Young Sherlock Holmes fan club.

The Howling and To Live and Die in LA have little bits o' randomness.

LOL! ! ! A quiet brillant sketch; my favorite part where the "creature" from the prison cell lunges out and the doctor hitting him yelling, "NO WE DON'T HAVE ANY CIGARETTES!"
You can throw Reno 911!: Miami in this group. There are a few extra minutes after the credits where Dangle and Junior are screwing around with airport security metal detectors.
Talledega Nights has something after the end credits. It is only slightly amusing.
I'm going to throw out this one although its place on the list is debatable since it isn't technically a scene.

On the VHS tape of Phantasm II, during the end credits, there was a clever bit of wording in the "unauthorized duplication of this film" blah, blah, blah. Like all other films, the wording warned of criminal prosecution but added something like "and the wrath of the Tall Man."

I don't know why I was paying enough attention to catch it, but ever since I find myself watching the credits much more closely.
Airplane has a similar thing in its joke-filled credits; it gives the full "unauthorized duplication" speech and ends with ". . . SO THERE."
I used to clean the auditoriums during what was perhaps the most unremarkable period of cinematic history when there were virtually no tags after the final credits. I do remember that at the end of "Batman & Robin," the Bat-symbol slams resoundingly into the Robin-symbol.
There's a brief shot of a Japanese woman waving at the end of Lost in Translation.
IDIOCRACY has a bit after the credits involving Upgraydd.

The Chase is the one with Charlie Sheen dressed as a clown, doing Duvall's lines at the end.
House Party has some in-between credits stuff (the roof blown off from the beginning lands on the two cops), and
D.C. Cab also has stuff after the credits, but I'm not so sure about The Goonies.

You can file Max Payne under the M now.

And Eagle Eye had one until it got scrapped in the last minute. Remember how ARIA fragmented it(her)self into pieces before hacked by Rosario Dawson? Well, guess who comes back on the TV screen when Michelle Monaghan's kid & friends are about to play that Guitar Hero game Shia just gave'em?

Add The Mission to the list.

It has the Head Cardinal(?) looking guiltily at the camera then back to work...

Oh yes. Those sidekicks of Koopa pitch a Video Game idea to a couple of Japanese Producers. Kinda lame.

I like these End Credits touches. The trick is knowing if they are there in the first place. The Ferris Bueller is a real obvious one. I wonder how the Audience reaction was like to first seeing that?
I just checked my DVD of Mortal Kombat and there is no scene after the credits. I can't say the same for when it was in its theatrical run, but as for DVD there's no extra scene.
There was never any scene afterwards, just Shao Kahn laughing and saying a line (the line escapes me at the moment, think it was "excellent").
Once Upon A Time In Mexico has a brief shot of Sands at the end of the credits.
Anchorman has a scene where Ron is talking really awkwardly about where they'll be in the future.
Hmmm, Does anybody remember a scene after the credits in 'Murder by Death'? There are some people who claim that there used to be a scene involving Sidney Wang and his nephew driving away from the mansion and they encounter Sherlock Holmes and Watson, who are lost. They give them directions. The scene was later deleted due to copyright issues.

Oh yeah, and add me to the Young Sherlock Holmes appreciation society.
Just watched Son of Rambow, and there's a funny bit of dialogue played over the end of the credits. It's an actual continuation of the last scene, and worth hearing.
