Er, Lucas is a money-grubbing hack?

Uh, it's the same exact set released last year with different art for the outer box and without the bonus 4th disc at a lower MSRP obviously directed to the more "mainstream" people who have yet to get the OT on DVD.

In other words, "Move along..."

Considering there were people last year, dying for these films, and, weirdly enough, balked at having to pay $60 for it, I'd say this isn't surprising. They'll probably sell too.

"Our" new box is coming in '07 and you know it. Quitcherbitchin.

Hey, how about the Original Trilogy in it's old pre SE form, George?
I like some of the SE changes, have no problem with his making changes to something he owns, and am not a fantatic on the issue, but if nothing else because they are a piece of film History they should be available in their original form.
I just hope I have not opened the gates of Hell with post considering how fanatic some people are on the issue. Just wish Lucas would give us a choice. I want to own Both.

Will there be a way to get just the box? I like that box better.

Maybe the next incarnation will be the individual movies, so I can buy Empire and not worry about the other two ruined ones.

....I'm sorry, did you just call New Hope a ruined movie?

Revisionism is a bitch.

...oh yeah, that. My bad.

Meh. I've made my peace with the SEs.

Actually I was referrign to the Star Wars bashers claiming that the old films were not that good after all.

I have no problem with the Special Editions. It would be nice if we got the old versions as a bonus, because of the historical value but I don't really mind not having them.

Give up on ever seeing the real OT while Lucas is still alive (and possibly even after he kicks it).

Didn't buy the last one that came out. I'm still waiting for the super set.

My buddy's brother got the original on DVD by transferring the laser disc editions over. I was going to ask for a copy since I haven't seen these movies in years!

Yeah I think alot of people (including myself) are waiting on the SuperSet. But I don't really see why anyone's surprised at this release. How many VHS Releases were there of the OT? And how many of you actually own ALL of them? Why wouldn't they release another set? People are definitely going to buy it. At least they're adding to the set rather than just hiding behind new box art.
