Seeing Tobe Hooper's Mortuary and Three Extremes is worth the price of admission (and tolls) alone. I might be the only person on the planet who liked Hooper's Toolbox Murders remake.
Someone's gonna have to film me a bootleg of the Savini short.
"I'm the King of Splatter! I do my own stunts! Here's footage of me getting made up for my five second Land of The Dead cameo!"

Nah, I enjoyed the Toolbox Murders redux as well. Quite a lot actually. Smart, simple and fun. We had to sit through what I'm asuming was the (world's worst) sales agent reel for Mortuary at the Frightfest. It was in b/w because of an NTSC-to-PAL player conversion issue, presented on tape and cut together by am obvious fool so the "dramatic" stuff had no choice but to look ridiculously paced and performed. But once the "action" kicked in, it looked pretty nifty and EC grim.

I miss festivals. We have one year down here. A great one, but the rest of the year is pretty sparse.

Have distribution rights been picked up for Mortuary yet?

By the way, I really enjoyed Hooper's Toolbox Murders as well.

rejected films

I would like to know which films were rejected by the new york city horror film festival. It can tell more about what the festival is about. Is it just to sponser corporate horror films or is it a voice for underground cutting edge exploitation video? And yes my film killers in the woods was rejected. http://www.killersinthewoods.com

By the way the new toolbox murders was a boring piece of crap like most American horror films. But the wes craven film "cursed" is clever, funny gory and even has pretty girls mixing it up with the beastly werewolves.

Maybe it was that unproductive and not particularly altruistic attitude toward the genre you want to be a part that impeded your film's progress ?

90 minute action video shows one beautiful girl after another who is attacked, and either strangled, smothered, whacked, dragged , drugged, chloroformed or otherwise manhandled in various and sundry ways by our merry band of forest killers.
That'll be the "underground cutting edge exploitation video" then?

Sounds like ROBIN HOOD: THE FRATERNITY YEARS.

I can't get head around the plot.

I was wondering how long it would take this forum to devolve back into murder porn.
