THE ISLAND arrives on 12.13.05

Thread Starter
VB is reporting (via a Dreamworks advertisement) that Michael Bay's futuristic Logan's Run of THE ISLAND is coming on 12.13.

Specs are forthcoming, but supposedly, get ready for:

- audio commentary with Bay himself
- behind-the-scenes look at the film's action sequences and such.
- MORE! (sadly)

The Cover Art is coming soon, partly because I'm at work and nowhere near a scanner.

i thought the movie was ok - not fantastic but a decent couple of hours.
The problem was that it got stuck between trying to be intelligent scifi with relevance to today and a michael bay action epic. (minus tension) The 2 don't really mix. Also, Scarlet Johansson was poor.
Good score though, and Mcgregor was good. At least Bay is trying.

Is it just me or does McGregor kind of look like Steve McQueen on that cover?

A little bit. Looks like it's been photoshopped a bit, too.

They could have at least put the right name above the right actor.

I really thought there would be some kind of an "extended cut" to boost DVD sales.

Any insider-rumor-word on a special edition DVD, or is this it? I'd hate to buy and then down the line they come out with new edition...I hate double dipping.

On the plus side, Ewan doesn't look like he's 60 years old on the box art(as opposed to the poster). On the minus side, I'm sure they'll be double-dipping this at some point(another Bay Criterion edition? Hahahaha).
I might give it a rent, because I do want to see it, but I'm sure as hell not buying it, just due to my double-dip fears. Plus, I'm sure they've got an "unrated cut" sitting in a vault somewhere.

Yeah, that's always been a pet peeve of mine. It's not like it would be too hard to use a mirror image of the actors.

With or without Scarlett boobage? Cause if I remember correctly Bruckheimer decided not to put it in the theatrical run. Maybe I'm just fantasizing here.
