Alien Nation: Season One coming in January

I just read this over at the Digital Bits:

Quote:
Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox will release Alien Nation: Season One and Cloud 9 on 1/3/06, American Women on 1/10, Mary Tyler Moore: Season Three on 1/17, Hill Street Blues: Season One and Time Tunnel: Volume One on 1/24, and finally Love's Long Journey on 1/31. Alien Nation will include audio commentary by Kenneth Johnson on the 2-part pilot, while Time Tunnel will include the series' unaired pilot episode, along with Irwin Allen home movies, network promo spots, radio spots, an FX camera test, galleries of production art, production and merchandise photos, and a comic book.
Easily a case of the series being better than the film, though the film was decent. I hope it holds up okay, I remember the year it was on FOX had a great Monday night block of "21 Jump Street" at 8 and "Alien Nation" at 9.

I used to love watching this show. I'm also wondering how well it holds up, but I'm guessing it will be just fine. It's something I'll likely pick up eventually. Does anybody know how long it was on. I can't remember what happened or how it ended. The only thing I remember specifically about the show is that the Alien family (weren't the aliens called Newcomers?) had a baby after a while and the dude was the one to gave birth, and also that the human cop, Sykes, had an alien girlfriend. I have the movie on dvd, but I haven't watched it for a while. It left a great impression on me back in the day and I watched the show as much as I could.

It was on for only one season. Eventually there was enough interest in the show that FOX put on a few TV movies (I think there were 4, not sure) but those weren't so great if memory serves correct.

I remember the male alien giving birth, I also recall one episode involving an alien version of Russian Roulette that was being played which was also quite good.

That was all one season? Wow. Felt like more. I guess my perception of time was a little different as a wee little lad. Well, I guess it won't be a long term investment commitment then. I sort of remember the tv movies, but never saw any of them. Did it all end well for George and Matt?

Bust out the spoiled milk, it's time to party!!! Heh heh.
