The other day I had to shadow a bird researcher into the field for a project I'm doing and my legs got all bit up by chiggers.

There's a particularly nasty welt just below my right ass-cheek that I want to scratch so bad, but then it'll become a disgusting open wound and nobody wants that.

Seriously. What's with all the little bitey creatures?

Sure, evil little critters attacking you in nature is bad, but what's worse is when they invade your home.

About a month ago my friend and I came home and turned on the light in the kitchen and saw literally hundreds of baby spiders crawling all over the coffee pot, we were only out for about half an hour so they had to have hatched during that time. Of all the things in the house they could have been on they had to choose my most precious possession.

What was worse was that there was no way we could have moved them outside so I had to spend a few hours hunting down and killing tons of little baby bugs.

In spite of all the cleaning I did right after I still find one we missed every once in awhile. Luckily they are usually big enough for me to catch and release.

Had a mouse problem a couple of weeks ago. For some reason once they got into the house they thought the best place to hang out was my room between the hours of 2 and 6 am.

The really funny part about it was 2 of my housemates are ex army and these big bad lads would go nowhere near a mouse, dead or alive.
