Can anyone comment? Has anyone seen this, and is it at all worth it if you're a fan of the film?

The terms "Worthwhile" and "Knight's Tale" do no belong in the same sentance.
Sorry, but as sombody who is interested in Medieval History and have been a Society for Creative Anarchronism member for years, I hated that fucking film like I have hated few others.

Knight's Tale pulled of it anachronisms with much more ingenuity and creativity than anything like it in recent years (yes, including Moulin Rouge). I mean, if you don't have a huge grin on your face when the "We Will Rock You" stuff starts, you might as well turn the movie off, cause it's just not for you.

What's kept the film a favorite is how it handled the characters--rather than just make it a goofy comedy, it threw in some well drawn characters and a healthy dose of drama and conflict. Heath Ledger may never be the big star he was intended to be, but he's a great leading man and shows it here.

As for this new SE, I'm not sure what all is new on it, and seeing as how I just bought the original disc back in June, I'll probably hold off.

He was asking for "fans of the film" so thanks for stopping by.

The only way I would buy the SE is if Ms. Sossamon got fucked hardcore in it and she doesn't so blah.

Sorry but I have a penchant for telling the truth.

See, that's funny because I loved it and I have a similar passion for Medieval History and am also a member of the SCA. I like the fact that they knew right off the bat that there was no way that they could stay true to the time period so they went wayyyyyyy off period. I appreciate that way more then something like 13th Warrior which tries to be true to the period but ends up all anachronistic (seriously, Conquistador armour? On a norseman?).

BTW, what Kingdom are you in?

I just totally see this movie as a fantasy. It's really the only way to look at it.

I don't see it as a "fantasy" per se, just a movie with its tongue planted firmly in cheek, with a goal to entertain and enthrall. It does both, without ever becoming too goofy or cheesy. Its time period is at the same time crucial to the tale, but at the same time unimportant. The fact that the climax has some real emotional weight to it is a testement that it's possible to have a fun, entertaining movie that also has some characters with depth.

Here's a little bit from IGN where they talk about the merits of the re-release:
