Art and other wall accoutrements

What sort of shit do you have on your walls? Posters, art, etc.

Assorted Florida photographs by yours truly, with my lovebird Dr. Gonzo in the foreground. And my grandpa's dolphin fish.

Print of "Pocahontas" by artist Wes Freed.

Print of "Moonrise, Chickahominy" also by Freed. It's framed similarly as the other print, but I couldn't get a good picture of it.

I also have the last strip of Calvin and Hobbes framed, a picture of Space Ghost signed by George Lowe framed, and posters for VERTIGO and ARMY OF DARKNESS. Yes, that's it. I essentially live in a one room apartment, so wall space is scarce.

That's some cool art.

I've got your standard movie posters--Reservoir Dogs, War of the Worlds, The Usual Suspects, Edward Scissorhands--my three favorite pieces of wall art is my framed Ghostbusters poster, my gigantic Pink Floyd "Back Catalogue" poster, and an original publicity snapshot of Bogie on the set of "The Barefoot Contessa." The Bogie shot lives above my computer--it's one of my more cherished belongings.

Oddly enough our house is covered with pictures of dead rock stars but I don't have a single movie poster.

Here's one of Jimi that my friend cut up:

We also have another one of Hendrix, a wall hanging of Jim Morrison, a few pictures of Kurt Cobain, James Dean and Bob Dylan, and some of our own sketches and paintings that we thought looked weird enough to add to the atmosphere. And in my own personal space I have a Dark Side of the Moon poster, a Marilyn Manson poster and a few Bauhaus postcards.

My wife took over the living room. We have pictures of our daughter (although I would have hung those too on my own) and some African artwork (Animal prints and paintings). It's really nice and atmospheric and she did a good job but it's nothing I would have ever done and almost think it's better suited for the bedroom rather than the living room, but it still looks nice. The only thing of mine is a framed X-Files tv show poster that I stole from the tv station I work for and it's hung above my computer in the bedroom. Although once we move into a house with a third bedroom I'll make it my room and hang movie posters.

Aside from a few perks from work (signs with the covers of Sin City, Constantine and the Donnie Darko DC, as well as a nice System of a Down poster with wartime headlines lining the room they're in), I have:

A Marvel vs Capcom 2 poster with all 56 characters on it.

A Rurouni Kenshin wall scroll.

Mini-posters for Ninja Scroll and Ghost In The Shell (from the Spec Ed DVDs)

A Green Matrix Reloaded poster with Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus

Fight Club one-sheet

Tool "drowning man" poster

Old Perfect Circle band poster (Paz is still in it)

Real simple Deftones poster

Red and Gold Return of the King poster

Crow poster, Eric looking pissed with his hands folded at church

The Struzan Hellboy poster.

Classic Shawshank Redemption "stretched to the rain" poster

A Duel Of The Sith poster (Maul, Dooku, Vader, and Palpatine, and a shot from their respective fights underneath them)

Two laminated Castlevania: Symphony of the Night paintings

X-Files "The Truth Is Out There" poster

An Incredibles lithograph (the glory pose with the whole family in the forest)

That's about it.
