Truman Show Special Edition - Problems

(Edit: Never mind, I managed to fix it with some Clever Hackery. Can someone lock the thread?)

I just recently bought the Truman Show Special Edition DVD. The first thing I did was watch the special features, because I've seen the movie so many times it isn't new to me anymore. Just today I started watching the movie and made it about 34 minutes in before I had to turn off the player and go do something. When I came back and turned it on, it read the disc like usual. The disc title and the point it would resume at came up on the screen. It went black for a fraction of a second, as if it would start playing. And then it takes me back to the player's main menu, saying "This disc is incompatible with the player. Please insert a different disc"!

I've ruled out a layer change, because I have other discs that have 'em (Bedazzled, The Matrix, The Incredibles), and I watched the special features on this one with no problems (and they'd be on the second layer, right?) And my other discs work fine, even Hitchhiker's Guide, which is the newest disc I own (so it probably doesn't have to do with improving technology -- the player's only a year old anyway). And the bottom of the disc is free of dust, scratches, fingerprints, disc rot, laser rot, or separation of the, you know, the glue. It's pristine.

Anyway, I'm trying to get in touch with Paramount, but it looks like you have to mail them. In this day and age? And no mention of Customer Service; Is there some sort of Secret Customer Service E-mail address? Or maybe anyone here knows what the problem could be?

Just take it back to the store, tell them it's defective, and exchange it for a new one. Most stores will exchange it for the same title even without a receipt.

Doesn't matter if other dual layer disks work. It all depends on the quality of the disk. I have dual layer disks that work just fine on my player. I have other dual layers that choke spectacularly.

I've had some weird shit like that lately with some disks. I think my Lone Gunmen disks did it. Plus on one of the Scrubs disks, it quits playing mid way through the extras. (I put it down to my badly messed up player.)
