I didn't mind "Saw", I was only half aware of the internet hype surrounding it, so I went in clean and found it to be a bittersweet relief from all of the shitty remakes and PG-13, "spooky ghost girl" nonsense.
It's not a matter of forgiving the film its flaws on my part (because I don't), it's just that I expected much ado about nothing and got a reasonably entertaining B-movie. With all that said, I certainly won't begrudge someone for carrying a torch for the film, and though I've no plans to sit through the sequel, I hope those same people that enjoyed "Saw" above my "not a bad way to pass the time" level get a good deal out of Saw 2.
