CHUD needs some kind of new filter for when folk sign up to weed out the misogynists, the potential rapists and the clueless.

I bet you've also seen/followed-them-around-until their hipster jeans have crept down whilst they crouched to get something on a low shelf and thought they put on their most alluring thong...just for you.. Right ?

Not from my point-of-view.

My intentions were ultimately for her best well-being. Rejection seemed to be a common theme in her life, and I didn't want to be apart of it. I'd rather have her think that the number I gave her was misheard than her to really know for sure that I wasn't interested. Though if she really were aware of body language and the obvious signs the first two times around, I wouldn't have even been put in that awkward situation.

You got her hopes up and strung her along simply because you didn't have the balls to tell her the truth. Or perhaps because, as you said, you enjoyed the attention.

I was thinking such things....This all reminded me a bit of the AOL Chatroom speak circa 1995. You know where the guy logs on and tries to impress everyone by talking about how he is the shit.

I dont think this type of "confidence" translates well onto a web populace that has been trained well in cynicism.

You guys can think whatever you want.

I don't need to brag on a message board (and how is anything I've said been bragging? I know I'm not the only one that's been put in these kinda situations). Nor will I continue to defend myself for something that seemed like the right thing to do at the time.

I'm not necessarily putting the blame on her. But if I was really gonna be honest, I would've told her that I'd rather jackoff at home all day than have anything to do with her. If that makes me a prick or a low-life, so be it.

If we were having this conversation in person, I'd think you'd be a bit more generous and less judgmental. I'm a pretty nice guy, but sometimes my best intentions don't always come off so well.

I don't think I'm da bomb or God's gift to women. I'm still looking for that soulmate who will be with me though thick and thin.

At the video store I work at, the nice girls always seem to come in just as I'm exiting the adult room after putting some returns back.

Its impossible to recover from that.

Well, you can always work at a video store that doesn't have an adult room (unless it's a requirement to have videos of all ratings in NZ; here most places don't).

When I started working there I was surprised it had an adult section - which is quite popular. I hate going in there though, there's some DODGY stuff on those shelves. The stories I've heard from the other staff would freeze your blood.

And a girl who likes porn? I don't think they exist, except in legend...

On the women and porn thing: I used to go to the Tower Books magazine section late at night and buy stuff. At one point I got in the habit of buying this British porno mag "Mayfair" ... fairly tame stuff, but I was fairly nervous about buying it from the punk/alterno chicks who worked at the cash register, and always assumed they were thinking I was a male chauvinist jerk for making them look at this stuff. Well, one time I was buying that mag and nothing else and the gal at the counter was extremely friendly and chatty with me, kept me in a conversation long after I paid. (It was a slow night, not many customers.) I ended up asking her out and we went out a couple of times. It didn't work out, but it did teach me not to presume that women are anti porn. In fact it almost seemed like it sparked this gal's interest, because as a fairly introverted fellow, that was one of only two or three experiences I've had with a retail gal strongly hitting on me.
