Please, Tell Me This Is Not True.....

At IMDB, they list Uwe Boll as the producer of a remake of "Day Of The Dead".
God, if this it true it means the apocalypse is upon us.
The Boll plague has broken out of it's videogame quarantine, and he is going to shit upon a really good film.
Someone tell me this isn't happening.
Uwe Boll must be stopped by any means necessary. End of Discusiion.

I have never seen a Uwe Boll movie. Are they really that bad? I am afraid to find out for myself.

The remake of Day Of The Dead is in the hands of Taurus Entertainment, the people who already made Day Of The Dead 2: Contagium, a movie that makes Uwe Boll look like Scorsese.

So if he's on board, that might actually improve things.

I have to agree w/ Devin (....threw up a little) that even though Dr. Boll sucks like a Dyson, he does seem to have the uncanny ability to draw decent talent and finances to any film he works on. Hopefully he does stick to producing.

"Contagium" looks like shit if ever a movie did, but a film worse the a Boll film is something I find hard to beleive.
BTW you have heard that Uwe is splitting his "Dungeon Siege" film into two parts and showing a la "Kil Bill" as a four hour epic?
I am not kidding.

Well, it IS imdb.com ya know. As far as dubious upcoming film info goes, there're pretty much the tops. Still, they sure come in handy whenever a DVD producer wants to put a filmography on the disc (thank goodness these have started to go away).

Wouldn't in be hilarious if this "Dungeon Siege" actually turned out really good?

I don't think we have to worry about that.
Any film with Burt Reynolds playing a Medieval Fantasy world type King is automaticaly in the "it's gonna suck" department.
And Ray Liotta??? A very good actor but he is not the type I would put in a period film...which despite the fantasy setting is, in atmosphere, what "Dungeon Siege" is.
We saw enough of miscasting like that in "Dungeons and Dragons", and that film will probably look like fucking "Lord Of The Rings" compared to what Uwe will give us.

Has anyone ever examined how Boll keeps getting to make films so consistently with decent talent and budgets, just outta curiousity? Is the profit turnaround really good? Does he keep costs down? Deal with the devil? I'm serious, 'cause nobody, critics or audiences is really championing this dude as being a quality filmmaker(or even interesting, aside from how sensationally bad his stuff can be), so you'd think at some point he'd stop getting work. It's always confounded it me that every time you turn around you hear about some new project that Uwe Boll's about to start work on.

The Good news is that the German Tax Laws are being drastically overhauled
and the film productions tax breaks will be considerably tightened, and Boll film's will have to show a profit like other films from now on.
