Sid Haig alone makes this worth checkingout. It actually doesn't look half bad.
Well, except for the "coming 2 get you barb" text message.

Did anyone get the trailer to work?

Was okay last night. Maybe the MASSIVE influx from CC broke it?

This caught me off guard. I just expected when I read the headlines on some other sites that they had 3D-ed the original. Anyway, I'll give it a shot. I wonder what George thinks about it? Not like he really cares though, I guess. Especially since within a year or so we will not only have his Living Dead Tetralogy, but a remake trilogy as well. Now that I think about it, most of Romero's filmography has been or will be remade.....

Night of the Living Dead (1990)
Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Night of the Living Dead 3-D (2006)
The Crazies (2006)
Day of the Dead (TBA)
Creepshow (TBA)

What's next? Knightriders? Monkey Shines?

I hope they give Romero some money for these remakes.
He´s been fucked over by Hollywood too many times.

Well he's involved with The Crazies, but other than that who knows what his monetary take will be. Hopefully a decent enough amount to help fund another film.

He won't get anything from Night. It's public domain. Like a stoned cheerleader, anyone can do whatever they want with it.

Was'nt the last remake bad enough?
NOTLD is a fucking classic. Leave it alone.
I despair of Horror film fans at times, when they can excited over another bad remake of a classic.
BTW I recommend the Millinium DVD edition of NOTLD because it is the Romero approved version(he surpervised it and did the commentary) and by far the best quality..visual and otherwise.. edition out there. And George actually got paid for this edition.

The last remake was quite good. While Savini's direction may have been too mechanical, the screenplay (written by Romero) was better than the original's. I would dare say the script is second only to Dawn in the entire series.

Agreed. It had enough cool additions and a solid cast to make it a worthy remake. Wow, I hardly EVER say that. I also enjoy the meticulous attention to rotting detail in the effects department.

I'm a big fan of the NOTLD remake. I think it works as an interesting "What If" spin on the original story. Every deviation occurs because Barbra is an active participant in the house, not the catatonic scream machine of the '68 edition.

It's kinda like chaos theory, except instead of a butterfly flapping its wings, its Barbra killing zombies.

Very much agreed. I really wish they would get their act together and release the uncut version of Savini's remake on DVD.

Now that's a great quote.

I'm not sure about full scenes, but from what I have read they were forced by the MPAA to cut down on a lot of the blood/gore effects to get an R rating.

Check out the making-of featurette on the NIGHT '90 DVD. They show some very cool and wonderfully gory outtakes that didn't make the R-rated cut.

Count me in as someone else who enjoys Savini's remake for what it is. I especially love the extended coda at the end, with all of the nice twists to boot. I just wish the cinematography was a little more moody throughout. In this film, nighttime feels as well-lit as Disneyland's Electrical Parade.

But damn, I had a major crush on Patricia Tallman back then.

You'd think they'd at least have a 'inspired by the screenplay by Romero' credit. Public domain or not, that's kind of cheeky.

They really have to kill that "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DE3D" thing they've got going on in the website....

I'm really suprised this is hitting theaters. Not that I wouldn't go to see it (Sid Haig's inclusion guarantees it) but it just seems like people are getting done with zombie movies. Mainstream audiences are confused enough by all the Dead movies. This should find a good home on dvd though...

Pure ass, got my money back, kept the glasses though...

That bad eh? No one's had anything good to say about this one. Except for Sid Haig's doctor.

It pandered so much towards being a 3-D movie that it ripped you right out of anything you were getting into... Like, hey, look, I'm gesturing towards the screen... Which, in the beginning, I thought might be a neat idea that they could exploit, but there's really no vision to it...

I watched about 45 minutes before I bailed, and Sid Haig had only shown up for about 1 minute right in the beginning...

The acting was probably the worst I've ever seen next to Jaws IV : The Revenge...

And it was filmed on video from what I could tell... Something just didn't sync up with the glasses...

So yeah, my assessment stands...

The 50% of this movie that I saw sucked...
