Well, this looks like a fun site. Kudos to Ghost House.

Yeah, the ED was listed in the promo reel thingy too. Guess Raimi was serious...

I know that Ted Raimi said there were no current plans for it happening anytime soon, but then again Sam, Rob, and Bruce never said it was happening in 2006 or 2007. That was all other sites (especially IMDB) just proclaiming it was getting made soon. The trio themselves stated that it was quite aways off for two reasons:

1. They want to find a director and writer who are perfect for the project and who have a great vision for it.

2. Sam basically keeps saying that we won't see an Evil Dead remake until he's made Evil Dead IV.


Also, before we start getting into a huge discussion again about an Evil Dead remake, let's remember what has already been stated: First, it is a remake of only the first film, so no chainsaw hands or ED2 wackiness. Second, there will be no Ash character per request of The Chin himself.

I'm pretty sure they said they were going to make it outside of Ghost House. Besides, they would have more sense than to post it up on the projects list. Doing so would finally verify for good that it will actually be happening and send the fans into a spastic frenzy of joy (and drive Bruce insane shortly thereafter with millions of questions). Do I believe that Sam wants to make ED4? Yes, I think he does. Do I think it will actually get made? No. He'll finish off Spider-Man and say that he wants to do something small like ED4. Then some big, shiny, and exciting project will be handed to him and he'll want to do that first. Thus Evil Dead 4 will once more continue to be pushed back forever like Indiana Jones IV.

Anyway, enough ranting. I was just stating above the reasons that Raimi himself gave about why it might not happen anytime soon.
