Devil's Rejects DIRECTORS CUT

Although I didn't like the movie as much as I did House of 1000 Corpses I did pick up the DVD today. The one drawback to this movie was William Forsythe's over the top performance. When I saw it in the theatres my friend and I couldn't help but chuckle at plenty of his lines.

Anyhow - I am fucking impressed with the content listed on the 2-disc dvd. This is how a "Special Edition" "Directors Cut" SHOULD BE. Other DVD makers should take heed and I only paid $15 for it at Target. This DVD as well as Batman Begins 2-Disc set should keep me busy all week.

I didn't have CORPSES so I went for the 2 for $20 at BB today. I can't wait to sit down and watch REJECTS again; it's one of my faves this year.

How's the comic book that comes with the Best Buy disc?

I haven't cracked it yet -- was sort of waiting in the hopes that a review copy might show up from Lion's Gate. And I'm so busy that I probably won't have time for it until the weekend. But if I keep this copy I'll let you know.

Cool, thanks.

This disc is fantastic. Although there are some throw away features, the 2 and 1/2 hour making of doc is plenty of reason to buy this disc. It's very deep and full of great stuff. I only hope that all of that info doesn't ruin the commentaries.

Ah, so we're never gonna see that H1KC Director's Cut, are we?

While I understand the decision to cut the Dr. Satan scene, it was nice to see Rosario Dawson die in such a graphic fashion.

Also, unsure what to make of Otis' home movie. Should I be amused? Horrified? Both?

Disagree The Dr. Satan scene ties into the other movie but it was gruesome scene.

And that other OTIS clip was pretty damn disturbing.

Saw this last night for the first time. Dirty, dirty movie. Ha! I saw the director's cut. Does anyboy know what the additions/differences were. I don't ever expect much from director's cuts, but I'm always curious about any differences.

Only difference I noted was the motel scene was a bit longer.

Haven't gotten into the special features much yet, but I will say the second time around this movie really took hold and impressed way more than it did when I sat through it at a theatre. I really found myself appreciating the bizarre arc the three main character go through and Zombie's ear for dialogue. The chicken fucking conversation is still the funniest thing this year.

The scene in the motel with the hostages involving Otis and Sullivan's wife was longer, there were more shots of the aftermath of the girl getting hit by the truck, and there was another line at the end when the Rejects are being tortured by Wydell.

Wydell's showing them pictures of their victims and says one of them "Isn't so fuckable anymore." and Otis says "Oh yes she was." in the original. In this version he continues to say something like "I cut out her tongue and tied her to the bed to have some fun for about a month." I may be wrong, but I also think Wydell said something other than fuckable in the original version. I can't remember for sure, the line in the new one just seemed to stick out for some reason.
