I liked it a lot. Very creepy and ancient-ritualy. But April has only 30 days.

This was easy to get caught up in. Paul deserves credit for making an engaging story despite the potentially off-putting narrative oddities. The dialogue too often felt forced, to me, as if there was too much effort spent in nailing the story to a particular time and place. (Then again, I'm one of those guys who thinks Brian Azzarello's slang writing in 100 Bullets is corny.)

The story treads familiar ground with its circular coda, but I had fun, and the prose is excellent.
