Free WoW trial for Fileplanet folks...

I'm downloading the 2.8 gig (!) client as we speak. If you're a Fileplanet member and not already a WoW player you might wanna check this out.



Any of you World of Warcraft veterans wanna clue a n00b in and push me in some positive directions? I'm not new to MMORPGs, but I know next to nothing about WoW.

There's not really much "clueing in" to be done. The game is pretty n00b friendly. Pick a race and class (Hunter is a good starting class, as they're probably the most solo-play friendly of all of them) and get started. I'd suggest starting on a PvE realm, because PvP seems to be full of annoying twelve year olds.

For some great information on playing the various classes, check out the forums at the offical site: www.worldofwarcraft.com.

Once you get into things a bit, if you want to look up any items/quests/etc check out www.thottbot.com.

I also agree with the previous poster that the Hunter is a good, solo-friendly class. If you're more of an up close and personal type of killer, check out the Rogue class. They have a lot of utility skills, and can dish out some insane damage up close.

Very newbie friendly... I have next to no experience with MMORPGs or computer gaming in general... and I was easily able to hop on and instantly enjoy myself.

It's pretty easy to get into.

The one thing I wish I did when I first started playing was to upgrade my RAM immediately. Having one gig makes the large cities much easier to appreciate.

Also, when you make lvl 10, you might want to look up on the net about 'talent builds'. You can always change your mind about the talents you choose later, but it gets expensive.

I haven't bought a video game in nearly a year because of WoW. So yeah, it's pretty good.
