Call of Duty 2: Big Red One

What a great game, I've been missing out. I was using one of those free rental Hastings things (from a lower thread) and couldn't find anything I wanted, decided to give this a try. I guess I thought the Call of Duty games were more "squad strategy" than just fun ass FPS, but at least this one isn't. It looks amazing, sounds amazing, the missions are long and pretty well varied (some great use of snipers, had one plug me through a crack in the wall Full Metal Jacket style), the controll is probably as close to Halo as I've found, even the tank controlled great. I'll definitely be giving the other CoD games a try.

I was surprised by this one. I thought that the other console "Call Of Duty" game was a disappointment. This one is just a great balls out action game. The Italian campaign is particularly memorable.

I like what I'm reading about the 360 version, so I'm holding off on this for the pc or Xbox. Loved the pc demo though...

This is a different game.

PC and 360 get CALL OF DUTY 2.

Xbox and PS2 get THE BIG RED ONE.

[BadJohnnyCarson]Ohhh, I did not know that. That's weird, wild stuff.[/BadJohnnyCarson]

That's what I get for not paying strict attention. I should have noticed that already.

At any rate, I've heard good things about the 360 CoD.

They're all good for what they are, which is very loud, effects heavy and linear games.

BR1 is very linear, but is one of the best-produced games I've seen on the PS2. Sheer technical performance, I'm talking about.

CoD2 is great, too, and the 360 version is one of the better launch titles.

The original Call of Duty for the PC is one of the most exciting and involving games I've ever played. The platform game/expansion didn't do much for me (still a good game, just not a smooth transition), but I'm still excited that there's not one, but two CoD games out there for the taking.

Glad someone believed me. I intend to use as many of these as humanly possible this week. I'll just have to pick up this game as one of my rentals. Oh, and if you return it the next day...$1 credit. Thank you, Hastings, for being stupid.

I tried for a third time yesterday and got shut down. They said they weren't taking them anymore because of some "validation" issues.

Really? Damn, that sucks. Like, 3 in a day? I rented Call of Duty today, and it's my 5th rental. But, yeah, I can see where there would be "issues."

Three days in a row, not the same day.
