Well finally watched the first episode and I had a complete blast. It's such an odd series it's quite wonderful. It has this off kilter feel which Miike previously used in Gozu which almost evokes Lynch at times. Tons of weird little details like the near Karaoke style police briefing, the bizarre use of the Lucy Monostone song, and the odd nature of the killings. Any series which starts with people being made into Ray Liottaesque flowerpots and ends with a brother and sister discussing revolution and the ripping of a child from a mother's womb has to at least be explored a little deeper.
