What is your favorite funny moment from the movie ELEPHANT?

There's a lot to choose from, it's kind of like picking your favorite moment of hyjinx from THE NAKED GUN. After a bit of thought I'm going with the 3 girls who go into the bathroom to vomit in unison. What's yours?

That was pretty good, but what about the shot of the principal running toward the camera before he gets iced?

Oh, and getting that actor who looks just like George Bush to play the drunk father who gets his keys taken away from him was a riot. I love when he comes stumbling out of the school to see his son with that "this sure sobered me up real quick" look on his face.

i think his name was Reggie but when he walks up behind one of the shooters and the shooter just blasts him in the chest.

I read it took Milton Berle a few years before people finally "got" him. Such will be the case with ELEPHANT.

That scene where the shooter killed his Eminem-looking partner would have been better if after being shot, he staggered a bit and said "That wasn't part of the deal. That wasn't part of the deal!" Then he falls to the ground.

One of the more subtle comedic moments comes after the main shooter is playing a lovely piano solo in his basement, then after he finishes he flips off the piano. Gus Van Sant knows how to tickle the funny bone!

The gay shower scene is inspired. It reminds me of the Monty Python gag where a knight in armor would wander into a sketch and hit someone over the head with a rubber chicken.
Jarring. Unexpected. Genius.

The best thing about the shower scene is that you have 2 teens about to go on this murderous rampage, yet they still had the good sense to want to smell good. No need to have massive body odor while walking up and down those halls.

Elephant was a slapstick homage to the legendary hilarity of Laurel & Hardy, Abbot & Costello, and Gleason & Carney! It's truly the feel-good flick of the year, and fun for the whole family!

Seriously, the two shooters romp through the school was very reminiscent of a Benny Hill chasing the girls moment. It was inspired genius.

The comparisons to those classic comedy teams is definitely valid, especially Abbot and Costello who's humor was always a response to not being accepted by the norms of society.

I also believe ELEPHANT is a story that could be told through the eyes of Charles Schultz's "Peanuts" characters.

For example, the role of John could be played by Charlie Brown.





The 2 troubled shooters should be played by fellow outcasts Linus and Pigpen.
