Disappointing. I expect it'll be the last of the major DREAM/Strikeforce crossovers. Aoki vs Kawajiri should be good stuff though.

And agreed re: Rashad/Rampage. Rampage's chin is impervious to just about anything shy of Chute Boxe knees, so Rashad better hope he can put him on his back and grind it out. Hopefully all the weeks of smack talk on the show doesn't translate to 2 guys unwilling to take the risk and let em fly.

Would love to see Bisping get squashed and Amir take out Long Duck Kim Dong Hyun, otherwise expecting easy wins from Lil' Nog and Diego.

Diaz worked Sakurai with that armbar.

Great prelim(s).

Let's see what The Nightmare can do after he's back @ WW.

Fucking boring. Next.
A lot of heart from Jason Brilz. No shame in losing. Crowd boo-ing like a ma'fucka!
HOLY SHIT! Mike Russow KO's Duffee. Lucky-ass punch.
"This was an awful fight"
Agreed, fat guy! But he followed up the knockout with a soft love tap to Duffee's face, so that was funny.

I know, right? Too funny.
Bisping / Miller staredown. Off-da-chain!
Fuck this fight.

Bring on the BLACK-ON-BLACK CRIME!
Really good fight. Too bad it was only 3 round(s).

Rashad upped his game. Rampage had ring rust and cardio to contend with. For Rampage's sake hope THE A-TEAM don't bomb.
I thought it was an average fight. There were flashes of excitement , but overall Rampage looked tired and Rashad danced around/pressed Rampage up against the cage a lot. Quinton should take it easy on the junk food the next time he does a movie. Or maybe he chubbed up and hit 250 to recreate Mr. T's look in the later A-Team seasons.
Rampage blew it in the 3rd. He had Rashad dazed and wobbling and Rampage just held back and didn't do a damn thing.

Excellent EXPENDABLES promotion on Rashad's ass!
I was afraid the fight would end up being two guys circling each other for the most part. And that's almost what it turned into. I thought Rampage had him in Round 3, and then he literally let him off the hook by going back to the "circle circle circle" thing again. As soon as Evans took him down with about 1:30 left in the last round, I was like, "It's over." I didn't get to hear what Jackson said after the fight, though. The guys I was watching the fight with started talking really loud (and drunkenly), so I couldn't hear it. Did he say anything interesting?

Couldn't believe fatty made a punchy at the end of that fight. I was outside with my friend smoking a cigar in that last round, and my buddy said, "Man, how funny would that be if the fat guy knocked him out this round?" And then like 30 seconds later, we were laughing our asses off.
That Jamie Yaeger guy on The Ultimate Fighter is such a dickhead. He's annoying as shit. Thinks he's the shit...yet, he quit in the fight in last week's episode. What a joke.
Well, let's see here..

Tyson Griffin vs. Evan Dunham
Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald
Ben Rothwell vs. Gilbert Yvel
Paulo Thiago vs. Martin Kampmann

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic vs. Patrick Barry - I've fallen for the 'Cro Cop is motivated and hungry again' hype one too many times. Plus at the weigh-ins he looked to have a nasty freaking gash on his forehead, if that opens up this thing could see an early stoppage. Patrick Barry by pure pressure.

Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin - Chuck looks in amazing shape, but with so many recent KO losses (2 in a row when he left), could we be seeing him gun-shy tonight? At any rate, Rich is just the type of guy who knows how to outlast and outwork a guy like Chuck, and I'm expecting something along the lines of Rich vs Hendo and Rich vs Wandy, and 'Ace' taking the unanimous, or at the worst a split decision in a midly entertaining scrap with flashes of excitement.

Dunham
Condit
Rothwell
Kampmann
Cro Cop -even though I should know better.
Franklin
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE call by the ref right there. Danzig was not even close to being out. Everyone knows that was a terrible call. Great job Lavigne...you wanker.
In a perfect world, we'd only have Big John, Yamasaki, and Dean.
Holy hell, just terrible reffing tonight.
Dunham vs. Griffin: First off, I imagine that's another fight of the night for Griffin, because that was great. Second, Dunham looks like the future. That was an incredible performance, and he clearly has a jaw on him.
Good fight/win for Cro Cop.
DAMMMMNNNNNNNN!!!!!!! That was one HELL of a fight right there by Cro Cop. I figured he was going to knock Pat Barry out...but damn, he pulls out a choke to win. Great fight, they both looked like they were having a great time and really respect eachother.
Part of me really wants to see Chuck get back to title contender. This is going to be a tough first fight for him I think...but it'll be even bigger if he wins. It's good that he's coming back against such a high quality opponent. He looks ready and he looks like he's incredible shape.
I think Barry more or less wanted to lose.
Well, then he got his wish. Hahaha.
We just witnessed the end of Chuck's career. He's DONE.
HOLY FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOLY. SHIT.
WOW. Chuck's lip is damn near ripped in half.
AND a broken arm.
1-5 since 2007, 4 losses by KO/TKO. Hang it up Chuck.
Its sad to see him go out like that...but I had a feeling if he was going to lose it would have to come by KO.
It was such a great round, but a chin only lasts so long. Also, it's worth noting that Rich took some bombs without getting shook.
Yeah it was a great round for sure. Chuck gave it everything he had I think, Rich shook off some heavy strikes from Chuck.
Credit to both fighters for bring their age. They looked really good compared to Kimbo Slice. LOL!

EDIT: We replied at the same time when Chucked got fucked up! More lulz.
Yeah we did. Hahaha. I really would have liked to see Chuck pull out the win. He'll go down as one of the greatest fighters in UFC history. Its just unfortunate his career had to end on a KO like that.
Had he not been such a hard partier in the first place, he'd still be going. ALso, it's fitting that he went out against another top-10 all time UFC fighter. (UFC, not MMA) Rich is so criminally underloved.
IMHO: He may have ''one'' more fight, since his best buds w/ Dana. I guess, we'll find out at the press conference here in a few.

Though, credit Iceman giving Rich Franklin a broken arm. All was not lost. And for Chuck's walk-out music. What does that mean for Eminem's CD sales? LOL!
Yeah, it is fitting that he went out against an all-time top 10 UFC like Rich. It would have been horrible to see him get KOd by a nobody.
Well I think that was the first time I've ever gotten the whole main card correct, and if it wasn't for the Danzig fight I would've gotten the whole card right.

I thought it was a good, fun card overall. I'd like to see an immediate rematch between Danzig and Wiman, I think they both deserve it. Classy post-fight interview by Danzig. Lavigne made a terrible, terrible call, but he is one of the better refs in the sport. He just seems prone to a bad mistake every so often.

I didn't get to see the first 2 rounds of the Condit-McDonald fight, but the 3rd round was great. Condit beat the shit out of McDonald and I didn't mind the stoppage. The amount of time left is irrelevant, McDonald's defense was non-existant at the end there, he was just flailing his arms around and he said as much after the fight.

Rothwell vs. Yvel was horrible. For as much as I'd like to see 5 round fights be the norm, fights like that one remind me how dreadful 25 minutes of that would be. The fight was mildly entertaining at times, mostly due to the amount of sloppy sub attempts. I think Yvel will be cut and I think a Rothwell-Nelson rematch would be fine if Roy Nelson loses to Dos Santos.

Kampmann handled Thiago. Very good win for him. I think one more good win for Martin will land him the title shot that he was on track for before his loss to Daley. I don't think it is much of a set back for Thiago. I would imagine he'll have to fight another top ten guy as that is he ever seems to be matched up with, haha.

Cro Cop had a great win. That was a crazy and fun fight. Barry looked really really good to start and just seemed to lose it after the first. Cro Cop came out hard in the 2nd and it was nice to see him not get mentally beat and it looked like he was starting to get confident and he took it to Barry and just beat him up. I think Cro Cop was able to exploit Barry's adulation of him to some extent and definately exploited Barry's piss-poor ground game. Hopefully we'll see Mirko resign and maybe a rematch with Big Nog next. And I hope to see Barry continue to work on his ground game so he can stick around. I heard some talk that Barry might have hurt his hand as well.

Franklin got a huge win over Liddell. I have been somewhat suprised as to why people think Franklin was washed up. He's only lost to the cream of the crop. I thought Liddell looked good and I don't necessarily agree that he needs to hang them up. I think if he really wants to continue fighting he will probably have to alter his style. I don't think he can rely on a stand-up centric game like the past. He clearly can't take the same type of shots as he used to be able to, but I think his biggest problem now is that he overcommits to his KO attempts. Rich getting the one-armed KO was a big thing too, he looks to have broke his forearm. I think if he doesn't land that beautiful right counter that Liddell would have probably won. Rich is a tough fucking guy. Winning this fight with a broken arm, he beat the shit out of Louseiu with a broken hand and he has a perpetually blacken eye, haha. I'd like to see Franklin rematch Machida next and if Liddell gets another fight I'd like to see that be against Forrest.

The problem was McDonald clearly won the first 2 rounds, so stopping the fight with 8 seconds left during a "barrage" of punches that mostly didn't even connect after letting the rest of the beating slide by completely cost him the decision victory. Terrible call.

I'm happy to see Crocop regain some fire, throwing some *gasp* left high kicks and even a beautiful axe kick, then just machinegunning punches at the end.. but frankly, it felt like Barry was all too eager to lose that fight after the first two knockdowns. Stopped the leg kicks, went down via some half-assed takedowns, and was choked out on his knees by a sloppy RNC when Mirko didn't even have hooks in? It just didn't seem like Barry had any killer instinct in the fight and it cost him. Hope the signature was worth it.

Rothwell and Yvel should both be on the chopping block, what a slog. Was surprised to see Thiago get manhandled so easily, and man, I know it was a counter when he was heavily overcommiting but it was a short ass punch and Chuck was out cold long before he touched the mat. Good night sweet prince, thanks for the memories. If only Wandy could get a rematch..

It's tough when it comes to when to stop a fight when it comes to how much time is left. I remember this being a pretty big topic when Cyborg beat Gina Carano too. If I remember correctly, that fight was stopped within the last 10 seconds of the first round. A lot of people felt that Carano had weathered the worst of the storm and should've been allowed to make it to the next round.

I tend to disagree with that sentiment though. I don't think it matters what has happened prior in the fight or who has done what, I just don't believe that the time remaining should affect a referee's decision of when to stop the fight. I didn't necessarily think that it needed to be stopped, but I don't have a problem with the stoppage. McDonald/MacDonald? didn't do anything to properly defend himself for quite some time there and his eye looked good and broken. He was just flailing his arms around hoping to block the punches and didn't seemt to disagree with the stoppage.

I just got a chance to rewatch the fight and see the first 2 rounds and if the ref would've let the fight go for the last 7 or 8 seconds (assuming Condit didn't finish it in that time) that I would've scored it a draw. I think that last round is was definately a 10-8 round for Condit.

I think McDonald looked good enough for the majority of the fight that the loss won't hurt him though. He looked really good in those first two rounds and it's crazy to think that he's only 20. Condit really needs to work on his takedown defense and head movement.

I also think that the Mike Pyle-Jessie Lennox fight should've gotten the Fight of the Night bonus, but I don't think anyone could complain about Condit and McDonald getting that bonus.

Busy month for MMA this month, the TUF finale is next Saturday and the Fedor-Werdum Strikeforce card is at the end of the month as well and then Lesnar-Carwin the first week of July. I remember when I first got into MMA and it never seemed to have this many cards packed together. Crazy how far this sport has come in a short time.
Dana White says Chuck is done as far as he's concerned.
Yeah I seen that too, but he also said that last time Liddell lost for what it's worth. It'll be interesting to see what kind of role they offer him in the company if he does retire. His speech is so slurred at times I'm not sure he could be a spokesman.

I watched that fight very closely and Herb Dean was ref'n. It was STOPPED within a nano second of the bell ringing. It was a just stoppage. She didn't weather anything and just let Cyborg attack her. Carano is a pretty face with no legit skill. I want to see her get back in the cage and get her ass whopped. No hater-ade on my end. Just straight-talk.

I don't have a problem with a stoppage persay, if it had been stopped during the wave of massive GnP that broke his eye it would have been an obvious call. It's the fact that they kept the fight going while he was getting pulverized, and then later with seconds left in the fight and barely any punches actually connecting it gets stopped. Flailing or not you could see in the replay he got hit maybe 2 times at the end so why call the fight then when he was getting it so much worse a few minutes earlier?

10-8 makes sense though.

Apparently Pat Barry broke his hand and foot in the fight, lots of freaking injuries last night. Chuck's split lip looked nasty

How do those two sentences even fit together? That's not just insulting to Carano, but to every fighter she's faced. Is she so hot that every one of the opponents she beat just forgot their years of training and layed down?
