UFC postpones UFC 145

Never a dull moment in Dana's life huh?

Still Bisping vs Sonnen will be a great hype and a big win for Chad...

It's just too bad they only had a week to hype this thing. Holy hell, the possibilities...

Anyone else see the Bones Jones UFC commercial during the NFC Championship game on Fox?  I thought it was kinda funny.

I didn't and have since avoided it as I'm pretty annoyed at seeing his smug mug.

Holy shit, that Weidman/Maia fight fucking SUCKED.

Zzzzzzzz...  huh?  What?  Sorry, I nodded off during that scintillating matchup.

This next fight should be entertaining.

CHAEL!!!!!!!!!!

I'm no fan of Sonnen, but I am eager to see the rematch between him and Anderson.

Is anyone else surprised that in Chicago of all towns we get such a lopsided unanimous decision?

I know fights can be perceived different when you are watching them inside the stadium, but seriously a unanimous decision for Chael?

If anything I had that fight 2 rounds to 1 AT THE WORST for Bisping.

I know everyone wants to see Chael vs. Anderson again, but maybe the lack of TRT really took an edge of Chael.  He looked weak, lethargic, and slow today.  If this is what he brings to the octagon IN BRAZIL against Anderson he is gonna be leaving the country with his tail between his legs.

I am still shocked they gave a unanimous decision to Chael.  Where is the outrage?  Even Joe Rogan called it a "controversial decision"!

I loves me some Chael, but there's no way in hell he won that fight.  And 30-27 is reeeeeeaaaaaaaaaally pushing it.

I hate Chael, disclosure, and I gave Bisbing the first two rounds, but they were very close, and it doesn't surprise me he lost, judges see things, he got destroyed in the third, I'm bummed.  At the end of the day, if he brings that weak as crap against the Spider, he will get destroyed!

I think the takedown in the first won Chael the fight, but 30-27 is insane.

Thou I do hope Silva knocks him out in the summer.

Anyone think Evans has much of a chance against Jones?

Chael won because of outdated judging criteria; I had Bisping winning, myself, despite having to admit it through gritted-teeth. I think the fact that Chael wasn't protesting those who agreed says it all. Rogan mentioned Chael had a rough weight cut and it certainly showed in his very uncharacteristic performance. He better get his shit together because Silva's rib ain't gonna be broken this time and this is his last shot (against Anderson as champ, anyway).

EDIT: Apparently, I'm way off base. I blame it on the tequila.

I think Rashad has more of a chance than people are giving him. What's always maintained my curiosity is that through all of their mud-slinging the one thing Jones never did was deny Rashad's claims about what would happen in practice. I find that curious. That said, he's still got his work cut out for him. Go Rashad!

I've been saying since Day One that Rashad has a better chance than most against Jones, but none of my mates would listen simply due to being blinded by their hatred for the guy - another thing I don't quite understand, frankly.

I understand the hate, as Rashad's rubbed me wrong ever since Season 2 of TUF. Problem is, Jones bothers me even more! Saturday was the 1st time I've rooted for Rashad to win, simply to see if he can dethrone Mr. Insincere.

Badr Hari retired from kickboxing and is going to be moving to the US to pursue a career in professional boxing. K1 has had a bad couple months. They had to cancel the K1 World GP Final 16 back in October due to lack of funding and sponsors. They lost Overeem (their World Grand Prix champion), and now they lose Badr Hari.

UFC + Zimmer? I just blew my load.

I have Carlos tomorrow, but only just. Nick hasn't fought a guy with Carlos's height and reach for years and he also hasn't been fighting UFC calibre opponents. Except Daley, who dropped him twice in the first round, and BJ, who was beating Nick until he gassed.

Carlos is a finisher. He has 27 wins. 26 were finishes. His last two were first round knockouts of guys who'd never been knocked out before. He has better muay thai and therefore has more weapons than Nick. Of course I wouldn't be surprised if Nick won. He's as tough as they come and has cardio for days. The longer the fight goes the more it goes to Nick. And I would have no problem with Nick winning. I know he's well-hated but I have a soft spot for him, especially after the recent 3 part UFC Primetime series.

I can't wait.

Also, lol.

I'm pulling for Condit as I have nothing but hate for the Diaz douches.

Big Country and Werdum should be good, win or lose, The Belly usually puts on a good show.

The Diaz's have begun to grow on me now that I seem to understand them somewhat better. That said, they always have the problem of fighting someone I like more! I'm pulling for Condit but calling Diaz. By the way, you get the prelims free if you buy it via the Xbox Live app (they're also on FX, and the first 2 are on Facebook).

The UFC Primetime series for this one was awesome, right? I reckon it's at least as good as Boxing 24/7 now.

I love what Nick said at the weigh-in too. "I'm here to represent Cesar Gracie Jiu Jitsu ... or to recieve my ass-whoopin." Beneath all the mean-mugging and anti-media tendencies there's a genuine humility to those guys that I like a lot.

Man, that KO by Thompson was brutal. It didn't even look like he kicked the guy that hard, but he fell like a sack of rocks, and I think was even doing "the twitch" for a few moments after he hit the ground.

So, I'll let the others give more detailed recaps of how tonight's show was, but I only saw the two Facebook fights and the first FX fight, as I had to drive to Orlando to watch the pay per view on the big screen in 3D. Yes, 3D. Aside from some ghosting issues and a hiccup or two (none happening during any of the bouts) it was a great time. Not only was it different cameras but also different announcers in Kenny Florian and Jon Anik. The former is tolerable most of the time but the latter is pretty darn good.

I do have to laugh that among the celebrities at the show were guys you'd expect, like MC Hammer-he's been to quite a few in the past-and I wasn't surprised by Toby Keith. I certainly wasn't betting on Roger Clemens and Pete Rose to be in attendance, but they indeed were.

Condit kind of beat Nick at one of Nick's usual strategies - throwing volume punches at reduced power. I think he outlanded Nick 150-100 or something. I get some people being peed off about Condit's tactic of backing off and strking on the counter but I was fascinated by it. It wasn't a barn-burner but it was an enjoyable technical performance. I see GSP taking Carlos though.

Loved Werdum's clinch game and Big Country's Big Countryness. Glad they got the bonus. I was bummed for Mike Pierce though, I figured he had the points on that one. His striking was great and he easily prevented any damage from Kos's takedowns.

And Renan Barao man, what are those Nova Uniao kids on? It seems like they're immune to elite-level wrestling.

Bummed about Nelson, but Werdum looked good, he's a totally different fighter than his last stretch in the UFC, wish he would have gone that hard against Overeem.

Diaz looked like a joke to me, he spent more time running his mouth and being frustrated than he did mounting an offense.  But neither of these guys look like they could threaten GSP, assuming he comes back the same after the ACL issue.

Taking a minute off my Diaz hate, the guy is talented, but he needs a better camp.  He fought a dumb fight tonight and I think he has better ability than this.  If he got in a good camp, he would be a much better fighter, if you could get around his mental issues, which is a question.  He was a joke tonight though.

ETA: Watching the post fight interview, Diaz is such a fucking douche.  "Wah!  I walked forward and ate kicks all night without throwing a punch!  I'm gonna cry and quit!"  Look at your face asshole, you got whooped!  To be clear: FUCK NICK DIAZ

Diaz should be mad as his corner men, it was clear he needed to win the championship rounds to take the fight and yet no change in strategy until late in the 5th.

Thou Carlos needs a new nickname, he's the Natural Born Schemer

This rematch is disgusting. Whether you enjoyed it or not, Condit did what it took to win while remaining smart in his tactics and never falling into Diaz's predictable game. I hope he "runs away" for 5 more rounds and flips Dana off when it's over.

Fuck off with your need to push the Diaz/GSP fight, White; even if Diaz wins, he'll get Condit'ed by GSP anyway.

I think a lot of what's happened in the aftermath, especially from Diaz fans, is the image that's stuck in the mind is Carlos slipping Nick's punches when his back's to the cage and then jogging out of harm's way to reset.

But Carlos threw several spinning backfists and back elbows and three or four flying knees too. To see it as "Condit just fought for points and never tried to finish" is simply not an accurate representation of what went down.

As for the rematch, I'd watch it but Ellenberger or Hendricks would be a far more interesting fight for Condit.

According to Caesar Gracie, the rematch is already a no go, but no reason is given.

This is a very good point, Nate Diaz has no business cornering his brother and shows how important it is to have good guys back there.  Nate may be a good fighter, but he can't emotionally distance himself from his brother enough to honestly evaluate what's going on and give him solid advice.  The fact is, he wants Nick to be winning and that's how he's going to perceive any round that's even remotely close.

Fucking good.

Also, GSP said he'd relinquish his title in order to get a shot at Diaz over Condit. Man, the last time Georges succumbed to head games it didn't bode well and Nick is dug in deep.

Looks like someone pissed dirty at UFC 143. Rumors are saying it's Diaz.

Man, that was fun. Got to meet Dana, Simpson, Stipe and Michael Chandler (who just took Eddie Alvarez's title). Sanchez/Ellenberger not being 5 rounds was criminal!

Didn't know Jones/Evans was going to be in Atlanta.  Ticket presales started today.  I can still get a lower level seat for the paltry price of $445.  Yeah, that's one seat.  I think all the upper rows are gone already.

I like Bendo a lot but I hate weight cutting so I'm cheering for Frankie tomorrow. Gotta go for the natural 155er being the 155 champ.

And man, oh man I hope our boy Mark Hunt can do the job against Cheick Kongo.

I'm pulling for Bendo, I think the dude is awesome.  Maybe I'm biased because of the BJ fights, but Frankie still screams point fighter to me, though rationally I know that's not fair.

I think it would be awesome if Hunt won, but I just don't see how Kongo doesn't mess him up.  Hell, if nothing else, the "accidental" nut shots will take him out.
