I actually enjoyed it a heck of a lot more than I was expecting. The developer, Tri-Ace is usually great. Infinite Undiscovery isn't their best effort to date but it has enough charm that I was definitely drawn in. It is flawed and a little rough around the edges at times but it's also very well put together in other ways and is definitely worthwhile. I felt that the core characters and story were overall pretty well done and I think that this is probably what helped it click for me as well as it did.
Most reviews I saw said that the first few hours are a little slow, and I would have to agree, but it definitely gets better as it goes. Some of the areas you can explore are too big and too empty in some ways, but in the end it didn't bother me. Your party can get pretty big after a while and this is a plus and a minus. It's a plus because there are times where it conveys the sense of a group of people traveling the land (and working together) pretty well, but it is a minus when they're all scattered about the towns and you can only drag one of them a long with you at a time and THEY sort of interact with the townspeople. Sometimes you'll get different responses/mini quests based on who you have with you, but the process can be tedious with a big party and the rewards aren't usually all that great. I didn't pay much mind to ALL of the interactions possible in the towns but I enjoyed the game immensely nonetheless, even though I'm aware that there are better RPGs on the system.
I said it before but this one had some charm that just clicked with me. There's a post game dungeon that you can do and once I get my Xbox back I'm gonna dive right back into it and keep on playing for a bit, and part of me was even considering playing it again, which is very rare for me.
Hopefully this doesn't come off as too much rambling, but in the end I'd say if you've been curious about the game it's probably worth checking out, especially at a lower price. I really enjoyed myself with it, and it's the first RPG I've beaten on a while. (and oh yeah, I clocked about 34 hours when I finished it... I think it was about 13 hours when I got through the first of the 2 discs too.)
eta: And as for if it gets boring? Well, I was more into it at the end than I was in the beginning and I'm eager to get back to it, so I didn't really get bored with it at all.
