Warren Spector + Steam = Hell Yes

DeadChickRFun's thread about Red Orchestra coming to Steam reminded me of this:
Quote:
We are currently working with Valve on a new game using the Source Engine to be delivered via Steam, and are looking for top talent from within the industry to help us out.
Spector should really be able to create something special now that he doesn't have a publisher pressuring him and his crew.

Another interesting quote:
Quote:
Junction Point Studios is looking for artists to help develop characters and locations for a cartoon-style game.

We’re looking for artists who can conceive, sketch (and maybe even model and animate) cartoon mice, cats and wabbits. We need help creating and fleshing out surreal Wagnerian opera sets and places like Balloonyland or Wackyland. (If you have to ask about Balloonyland and Wackyland you might not be right for this job…)

I hope it's better than Dues Ex IW and Thief 3. Though I still enjoyed Thief 3 immensely, only because I am a whore for the franchise.

Harvey Smith was the lead designer of DX: IW, not Spector (he had almost nothing to do with it). Thief 3 was very enjoyable but Spector's strength seems to lie in creating original IP's, which is exactly what he's doing with this new game.

Yeah I'm a big Spector fan myself. I loved Deus Ex. And I was always wondered about Deus Ex:IW like why would Spector turn his own creation to Harvey Smith?? I know they let him go after the release of the game after it got alot bad reviews and basically killed the franchise. Its just good to see the guy get work again. Though last I heard, he was working on the new Tomb raider game.

Project Snowblind was going to be a link in the Dues Ex saga, a loose spin-off if you will. After IW's failure they downplayed any link.
