Magna Carta

I was actually looking forward to this one too after seeing some pics of it. It has a good look and I like the character designs, so it's cool to know that the $54.99 price tag is there to include an art book and maybe some other stuff. It's just too bad the reviews haven't been as positive as I would have hoped. The 7.1 Gamespot review is the best I've seen.

They gave it a 6 overall. the battle system does sound kind of similar to Shadow Hearts' but according to this reviewer "This is Judgement Ring gone wrong."

The story sounds like it might actually be ok once it gets going, and the game seems to be pretty linear (which is something that never really bothered me in a in RPG but is an issue to some).

In the end, even with it's cool designs, it's apparently not as good a game as it could have been but it's not completely horrible either. There are better RPGs out there to be had right now I guess (at a lower price too). A friend of mine is in love with Radiata Stories right now and Dragon Quest VIII looks pretty sharp. I still wouldn't mind getting this someday, but I'll wait for a price drop myself... especially considering I haven't finished an RPG in ages. ( I still have Shadow Hearts: Covenant unplayed!)

I really hope this game allows the player to experience the real life events leading up to Britain's ratifying of the magna carta...that would be awesome
