Help stop kids from eating other kids

I don't know why this article made me laugh so hard, but it did.

I know that the media watchdogs are always over video games (and movies and music of course), because they are afraid that children will imitate the actions seen on screen. Well, I for once agree! If children plays games like F.E.A.R. and Stubbs, we could see a serious outbreak of cannibalism in the US, and that has be worried. For once Joey L. and the watchdogs got it right. I don't want to go to the mall only to have some n00b who can't handle his gaming try and eat my arm!

WASHINGTON - Video games glamorizing guns and violence have long drawn the ire of media watchdog groups. This holiday season, they say they have found a bloody new wrinkle to hate: cannibalism.

Games featuring graphic scenes of cannibalism, "F.E.A.R." and "Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse," were among the 12 "games to avoid" listed Tuesday by the National Institute on Media and the Family.

"It's something we've never seen before," said institute president David Walsh, warning that today's games are "more extreme" and more easily available to underage kids than ever before.

In "Stubbs the Zombie," the lead character eats the brains of humans as blood splatters across the screen.

"It's just the worst kind of message to kids," said Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., who joined institute officials at a press conference announcing the group's 10th annual video game report card. "They can be dangerous to your children's health."

I'll say this, although I don't believe it to be 100% true:

A kid is more likely to go by a gun and shoot someone based on them playing a videogame than run around eating the brains of pedestrians.

The kid who picks up a gun and tries to imitate his favorite video game clearly has some serious mental health issues that would likely manifest themselves in some other horrifying way if the games weren't there. To say that the games are the catalyst (or even a strong influence) is to tragically ignore whatever the root problem may be.

Brain-eating, however, is a serious problem that must be stopped at all costs. If the lack of any violent video games saves just one innocent brain, then it will have been worth it.

The guilty brains are fair game then? When the zombie fallout happens, just remember - you don't have to reload a machete.

Then you should probably watch a horror movie or two instead of VeggieTales and The 700 Club all damn day. He's a zombie - zombies eat brains, for God's sake.
