From my Zap2it TV listings:

"Giant ape escapes and carries a blonde up a skyscraper."

That reminds me of a game we used to play where you'd describe a film's plot in rather obtuse terms and people would have to guess it.

For example...

"Young girl hallucinates after blow to the head" is The Wizard of Oz.

"Young man leaves farm, brings about large-scale political change" is Star Wars.

Used to be a huge bunch of fun in the Heckler's chatroom on AOL.

My sister and I have a standing argument over whether The Little Mermaid is good for little girls. I like to describe it as "The story of a teenage girl who runs away from home to marry a man she just met because he's good-looking".

And the moral of the film is, "If you want a man to like you, shut up and look pretty."

That one-line movie description game was fun.

Yankee Doodle Dandy - President Roosevelt listens to longest flashback ever.

Batman Returns - Batman thwarts mayoral campaign.

Au Hasard, Balthazar - Donkey abused.

There was also the legendary CHUD debate, centered around Blofeld's "Beauty and the Beast" review, about whether or not that film was defending abusive relationships.
