Mad Max 4?

Now that Mel Gibson is in love with Jesus, does anyone think there will ever be a new Mad Max? I don't think it's likely judging by the Sadaam beard, and dead language movies. Any thoughts?

This is NEVER going to happen.. and it's a damn shame.

It's more likely to happen than another stinkin' Rocky flick. There's no way that creatively bankrupt franchise can squeeze out another frame of footage, never mind a whole movie!

In all seriousness though, another Mad Max movie would be unlikely but not impossible to imagine. I mean the next film Gibson is acting in is about an undercover cop in a motorcycle gang: not exactly a bank-breaking tentpole event film right there. Though if he did do another Mad Max flick with his current paygrade I can tell ya right now it would be simply by principle alone a hugely-budgeted epic extravaganza. And that I find truly exciting, just the thought of a film in the Mad Max world at the scope of say The Lord Of The Rings is enough to send me into a series of backflips.

The universe that was created before was awesome enough, just imagine this alternate timeline 20 years further down the line, and what may have changed, what events may have transpired. Simply the idea of a massive Battle Of Endor-only-on-the-ground-with-Mad Max-vehicles-battle is enough to make me start picketing the home of whoever owns the movie rights to get someone on the ball here.

The Sadaam beard is gone from what I hear, and he may have found Jesus, but that certainly doesn't mean he's done making violent films. Hell, Apocalypto should be quite violent, as should Under and Alone (motorcycle flick).

I think he's just - for the time being anyway - decided to put most of his efforts into directing and producing. With the success and money from Passion, he can do whatever the hell he wants.

He should do his own, independently made and directed Max Max flick (barring any 'rights' issues) with his own money. That would be great. Can you imagine a Mad Max 4, starring and directed by Mel Gibson?

I thought they were already working on a new Rocky flick. Not that I'm overjoyed about it, but isn't it the one where Rocky comes out of retirement for a last fight and it gets massively over-publicized? Probably written and directed by Stallone too. Shame.

Didn't pre-production on a fourth Mad Max film get underway a few years ago called "Fury Road"?
I remember reading or hearing something about it, just before the Iraq War broke out, but i recall something about Miller doing some prelimenary footage in a desert somewhere.
A fourth Mad Max film would be about the best way Gibson could bow out of the acting game, which he seems to be heading towards anyway.
The thought of giving Dr George Miller a hefty budget and another go at the World he so brilliantly created would make every cell in my body orgasm., simultaneously.

I always saw Mad Max and other post-apocalypse flicks as spiritual successors of spaghetti westerns, so I can really dig some sort of Mad Max: Unforgiven movie.
