6-7 Years now. To be honest, I find there are women far more attractive than Maggie but she can be sexy at times.

I still really love the ladder sequence in Jackie Chan's First Strike.

I also loved the rain in Hero. I've enjoyed all that I've seen of Zhang's films.

This thread is reminding me how much Asian cinema I've yet to see.

I couldn't narrow it down to one scene from Sex & Zen. That movie is insane. Much like Amy Yip's chest. No Chinese woman has a chest like that. I read somewhere that she had them insured.

The Eye has several incredibly creepy memorable bits (was that the one with the old man in the elevator?); the one I remember being really freaked out by was the woman holding a child licking the window of the diner.

Personally, I was a big fan of Rosamund Kwan.

- The Shinsengumi dish out the pain to a house full of anti-Shogunate rebels in When the Last Sword is Drawn. The movie itself ended on a tedious note, but the action scenes were superb.

And while we're on the subject of women, the actress who plays Yoshimura's wife (and grown-up daughter) in that film is quite fetching, and definitely goes on Samurai Mike's 'Asian Crumpet Checklist'.

Back in the mid-late 80s, she had this awesome habit of posing braless in many of her glam shots. Such a hottie.

I agree, the years haven't been too kind on Maggie Cheung. I've always liked her svelte figure though. Nice legs.

Back on topic, some recent picks:

The raining bombs in WELCOME TO DONGMAKGOL

"Is that enough? Should I lend you mine after I'm done?" in LADY VENGEANCE

Except Diana Pang Dan who was given the name 'Mystical breasts'

I agree, I think she's one of the rare actresses who get's more attractive as the years go by, whether that's due to plastic surgery or not I really have no idea.

When the last sword is drawn has the distinct honour of being one of the few movies to make me tear up every time I watch it.

Fong Sai Yuk - The battle between Jet Li and the mother of his newest crush is one of the reasons I love Corey Yuen so. Just totally ridiculous, over the top, funny and cool as hell

Bangkok Dangerous - The hero and his dead partner storm a building side by ghostly side.

Dead or Alive 2 - A dwarf is shot in the head by three people, a cutscene is shown of the bullets entering the brain before the screen goes black and a midi version of the funeral march plays

That's such a great scene in DOA 2, what makes it even funnier is that Edison Chan is one of the killers.

I wasn't originally going to post it but fuck it.

Yes Madam
Michelle Yeoh and Cynthia Rothrock deliver a monumental ass-kicking at the end of this film, it's Corey Yuen at his greatest.

It's my barometer in regards to whether people are ready for Miike. I play them that one scene in isolation and depending on their reaction I assault them with Ichi.

The Great Yokai War The young hero and his pokemon like pal are attacked by the baddies. The youg hero makes a retreat, but the pokemon pal is captured and put into a microwave....if I say this is a kids movie made by Miike...you'll know why this is here...

The Blade The damn trippy sequence where the hero finally becomes bereft of one arm

BTW: This thread is now serving as my 'buy' list

Not so with this film, and this scene really nailed it home.
Props to you, Baba.

Which also reminds me, the restaurant Queen of Hearts scene in HANA AND ALICE. Totally made me fall in love w/ Aoi Yu.

I think you meant Edison Chen, DM. Eason is the big & round-headed fella from Enter the Phoenix and Love Battlefield.

Shit, you're right.

Project A
The clocktower scene.

Vengeance
The extremely bloody finale in classic Chang Cheh style. The film's influence on 'The Killer' is undeniable.

A tale of two sisters: The big reveal, which changes the whole film...and urged me to watch it again instantly to let it all sink in.
Also, anything involving the house itself...seriously, it was one creepy place.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The tea scene, where just by an accidental touch of hands, you understand the strained relationship bewteen Li Mu Bai and Yo Shu Lien....i find it to be the best part of the film.

House of flying daggers: The bamboo spears scene and the drum perfomance.

Seven samurai: the ending and the parting of ways at the end of the movie.

Throne of Blood the big death scene...glorious.

The princess blade the first assesination scene and the forest fight im quite fond off.

Lots of great choices here. A lot of these would definitely rate in my top scenes - probly with HERO and OLDBOY being right up there - but there has been quite an interesting lack of Takashi Miike stuff.

AUDITION - The torture scene made me want to crawl out of my skin.

VISITOR Q - When the father gets his dick stuck in his assistant's corpse. Can't quite remember the last time a movie actually made me want to throw up like that. The film makes Ichi The Killer seem like Steamboat Willy!

PROJECT A - The barfight. Chan and Yuen Biao in a classic teamup. And a TRUE show of Chan's comedic talents.

And for posterity:

THE STORY OF RICKI OH - Pretty much any scene in this movie. But if I had to choose a favourite it's be when Ricki strangles a guy to death with his own intestines. Classy, classy stuff...

Come Drink with Me
The drawn out swordfight scene at the buddhist temple, executed with precision and grace by King Hu.

Dragon Gate Inn
I'm not talking about the remake, this is the original baby. Polly Shang Kwan has a terrific swordfight against Han Ying Jie outside the inn, it's methodically paced but no less exciting.

Righting Wrongs
Depressing as the film was, Yuen Biao showed at the end he had more balls than Jackie could possibly dream of with the aerial stunt at the end.

Happiness of the Katakuris - The 'I Love You' song and dance number. Absolutley hilarious, a perfect piss take, and rather bizzarelly well coreographed bout of lunacy featuring perhaps one of the best characters in recent asian cinema 'Richard Sagawa'.

The Defender - A generally shitty film, but the torch light throwing bit at the end is excellent

Meltdown - Again unbearably bad, but nothing beats the female baddie playing the piano after the building has exploded around her.

Prodigal Sun - The 4th Wall breaking first lesson with Sammo... "When Do I get a sound effect?!"

I finally thought of another one.

Choi Min-Sik getting beat on 8 hours a day by casual passer-by in Crying Fist. I felt totally outraged on his behalf when that one guy tried to get away without paying. What a brutal and amazing film.

Our three heroes forming a human ladder to try and get a balloon out of a tree in Throw Down. My favorite To movie ever, and one of the most unguarded, and nostalgiac scenes I've ever seen in one of his films (and this coming from a guy who frigging hates nostalgia).

My local video store can't get their copy of Election fast enough for me. Looks like I'll just have to keep bugging them.

I rented Silmido and Tae Guk Gi based on recs I got here, and will be seeing them tonight. Thanks kids.

I haven't seen Silmido but prepare the kleenex for Tae-Guk-Gi.

Jackie vs Jet in Wheels on Meals. simply no onscreen pair with better fighting chemistry. these two utter warriors pulverize each other with the kind of blows that would send Jaa scampering to the safety of the nearest Bob Marley song. and that timeout- man I freaking live for that timeout. to this day I don't actually know if Dragons Forever is a good film or not because to me it's just 80 minutes of blur followed by REMATCH (there might be something in there about Yuen Biao and his bicycle too... I'm not really sure)

Better Tomorrow II- Chow swapping guns with the other guy is an absurdly, overwhelmingly cool scene stuck in an overall OK movie

Run and Kill- the sheer intensity of the scene when Fatty watches his future go up in smoke (vagueness subbing for actual spoilers)

Untold Story- when heads start to roll

Long Arm of the Law- the standoff

Some newish ones to add

SPL - Donnie Yen vs. Jacky Wu. Perhaps one of the best realised and filmed modern fight scenes. Donnie and Jacky just infuse this fight with a frenzied energy which looks incredible and feels kinda realistic at times. I've never seen Donnie Yen look like a better fighter and Jacky Wu will be hard pressed to ever outdo his role in the film

Welcome to Dongmakgol - The wonderfully over the top and brilliantly zany Boar attack scene. In a movie full of great little moments this always stands out and makes me smile

The Promise - It's got its fair share of haters, but the flashback to what happened to the People of the Snow is one of those scenes which everyone loves.

Ah, the memories of "what's Jackie's best fight scene" discussions on the Jackie Chan list....

ETA: I have reskimmed the thread, and seen no mention of Ikiru. I just love that film.
