Quoted for truth.

Tell me that when you get to the shower room.

By that point in the game I had lost all good will towards it. Sure it looked like the scene from the Rock, but that doesn't make it a good game. Red Faction did the same shit way earlier.

Just bought Rez, N+ (knew it from the internet as well) and a nice little oldskool shmup called Triggerheart Exelica. I want more shmups there. When oh when is Ikaruga coming?

Did you buy Omega Five yet? That certainly kept me busy for a few weeks.
I thought Triggerheart Exelica was okay, but it only reminded me that I've hardly played Omega Five, which seemed like the better game.

Downloaded the demo for The Club. It wasn't bad at all and there are some neat things to do in the game...but if I really wanted to play 'The Club' and not pay for it I'd fire up Call of Duty 4's arcade mode.

That's how I felt about the game mongy. It seemed like a decent idea, just wasn't too much there.

A new $10 version of 1942 looks to be on the way this summer. Updating some of these old classics (especially Bionic Commando: Rearmed) seems to be the reason why XBLA exists. I'm kinda bummed by the lack of original content, but I'll admit that the developers are doing a pretty great job with these updates. Oh, and at least online co-op is available with this one!

Please tell me someone at Tecmo is hard at work getting a revamped Ninja Gaiden Trilogy ready for June?

Final analysis on Omega 5: worth it?

I'm going to go on a tear and get through all my xbox live games that have been collecting dust for the last six months (puzzle quest! Yay!). This seems a bit pricey, and I already have a bunch of arcade-y shooters lined up.

**thanks to all the advice on Black.

***I was recently discussing FPS's on PS2, and we hit a bit of a logjam. Other than Red Faction and Black, I couldn't name another high profile/quality FPS on the PS2. They were out there, right?

Timesplitters.

Omega 5 is definitely worth it, and I need somebody take on my high score so I'm motivated to go back.

Oh, and FPSs on the PS2? Nope. At least, none that weren't done better on the XBox. And given your history with the Dreamcast, I'm hesitant to recommend the PS2's "Gordon Freeman on rollerskates" Half-Life port.

I kept hearing Red Faction was decent, but I can't speak first hand on that.

When I get back my 360 that's the first thing I'm gunning for....

Well, there was Killzone, which was definitely well made, but it pushed the system a bit too hard and couldn't live up to its hype. One that is not so much high profile but is still of reasonable quality is Cold Winter. I think reviews for it compared it in some ways to the N64 Goldeneye. I have it and though I never played it all the way through, it does have a similar feel at times. It's worth checking out if you're an FPS starved PS2 player or know one.

TIMESPLITTERS!!!

That game was fucking awesome back in the day for the PS2. That and it's sequel.

PS2 FPS

TimeSplitters trilogy
Red Faction 1-2
Cold Winter
Medal Of Honor: Frontline

so Rocketman: Axis of Evil is actually pretty decent, and has a nice bit of humor to it. Anyone else playing it?
Working on a negative review right now.
really? It was nothing amazingly special, but I thought the banter between the characters and so on made it enjoyable for me. Ah well. Looking forward to reading it.

There's just so many better shooters out there. The dialogue was witty at some points, but sometimes it just dragged it down even further (like the way the main character was exasperated at just hitting the A button over and over... tell me about it...).
