Some new Green love.

For those interested, here's an update in the goings-on's of my band Green. We have completed our album "Evolution of Revolution", have updated our myspace page http://www.myspace.com/musicisgreen and have recently secured some local radio airplay. The local rock station "98Rock" has a local music show on sundays called "Noise in the Basement". For those in listening range, we'll be played on Sunday January 29th, with a gig supporting it the next night at Fletchers in Baltimore, serving as our cd release party. For those who haven't, I'd be thrilled if you checked out our page, listened to some of our songs, and let me know what you think!

So, in what is generally amounting to me merely inflating my post count, I'm going to bump one of these threads again. I just put two of our newer demos on our myspace page. Any chewers willing to listen and offer some opinions on the tunes are greatly appreciated. The website is the same as in my sig,http://www.myspace.com/musicisgreen

I checked it out and liked what I heard.

Awesome, thanks Robocock2!

Two new songs posted on the Myspace page this evening, "Leave You Far Behind" and "Nothing To Say".

If you have comments, I'll always listen and appreciate them.

BUMP

Recorded a video of us playing one of our songs. For those in the Baltimore/DC area, we'll be playing at Fletchers on Friday night (28th)

Here's the video.

yeah I remember liking your stuff when you first posted this. Dug that video man. Digging it. If it's cool with you I may use a song from your space profile in an episode of my podcast if that's cool?

Absolutely!!! I would be honored Rob, which one are you thinking of using?

I'm digging on Maryanne, but if you a song that you think would be a good outro I'm down with whatever. I'll occasionally use my friend's bands as outro's and then throw a link up on the site as well.

You're free to use any you like! Let me know when you use it, I'll make sure to cross promote!

For sure. I'll try and remember to post in this thread later this weekend after we record, but I'll definitely throw a song up. Although, if you check out our new hit single "Gun of Love" on our new episode, you may have some competition. Haha.

Drive By Jesus indeed.

Your band isn't very good. Sorry. Not embarrassing, but missing any creative sparkle.

Well....thanks for listening!.......

Hey man, do you have an mp3 you could send me so I can drop it in Audition for this week's podcast? I'd like a clean sounding mp3 as opposed to me trying to record it from myspace. If so, send it to rob@podcaust.com
post #15 of 23
Thanks man, it's been added to the new episode and I threw a link up on my main page.

Bump. For anyone around the Baltimore/D.C. Area, we're playing a show on the 19th. Here's a flyer I did this evening.

If you've noticed a spike in MySpace play-counts for "Answer Me" and "Let Go", Chris, that's most likely my doing. Seriously, I've had the former in my head since last night. Great stuff with a truly soaring chorus.

Wow, thanks Bobby! Now you just have to get you and some hard drinking friends across the Atlantic for our show on Saturday....

I hope to have a few new songs on the page within a couple of months. We're close to buying our own multi-track to help get to that end.
No problem, Chris! I'll be looking out for those songs.

I wish I could! Usually, my friends and I aren't what you'd call hard drinkers, but, for Green, I think we'd make a mutual exception. The guys I play with will be getting linked to your MySpace imminently.

I took the time to listen, so I figure I might as well comment. You guys are pretty damn solid. I consider myself a music fan that is not easily impressed, but your instrumental groove is definitely firm. The vocal hooks haven't quite grabbed me all the way yet, but the singing itself is good. I can imagine that voice delivering some memorable songs someday.

I've only listened to the 4 Myspace songs, but if I were to make a quick and snappy uninformed judgement (the best you can expect from a casual listen by a passer by) I would wish for a bit more sonic fulfillment from the guitar. The drums and bass sound ready for anything, but the guitar doesn't quite sprawl in the way that the other instruments could potentially support. Maybe this is just my tendency towards banging the chords and open strings speaking, but that's how I feel. Anyways, you guys have a lot more potential than most other folk I've heard on Myspace lately, so please keep at it.

Thanks Kyle! I know what you mean about the guitar, in the past we've really tried to only "record our live sound", and as a riff oriented 3 piece, plus, most of those songs only have one track of guitar, this meant a lot of my guitar playing and guitar sound is a little sparser than I have liked at times. We're soon delving into some home recording, which will afford us some more time (studios are effin' expensive), and I plan to do a lot more multi-tracking guitars, which should beef my guitar sound up a lot.

Anyway, thanks for listening, and thanks for your opinion. Same goes for everyone on this, or my other Green threads, I always get excited when I see someone has posted in here!

And yet another bump. Some of you may have heard our song "Maryanne" on our page before, but we actually just took it through the whole studio/multi-tracking process. Go to www.myspace.com/musicisgreen to hear me sing all growly.
