I unashamedly adore Four Brothers. Again, when he's playing a punkass from the streets, he's aces. Also pretty damn good in Three Kings.

I'll go ahead and mention the Big Hit so no one else has to. Fuck that movie.

EDIT: Thanks, Molt, THE CORRUPTOR is the one that was floating in the back of my head. Love, love that underrated flick.
The Happening is one of those 'so bad that it's good' movies. Mark Wahlberg's meek voice, the horrible acting/dialogue, and the blooper reel suicides make it really funny. Don't ever pay to see it, though.

It always gets overlooked because it's not quite as traditional as a buddy cop flick like LETHAL WEAPON, while it's also not meant to be as dramatic as something like NARC. But I still love it and thought Wahlberg and Chow played well off each other.

Now I gotta see SHOOTER.

Every time I load this page I laugh at DIE HARD: WHITE KNIGHT. It's an easy joke but damn if it doesn't tickle my funnybone.

Has Glover held a press conference about this yet? I need to know what happened.
Did he have a stroke? Did he have some extreme dental work done? TELL US, DG.

He got off easy you sunvebitch

It's not a movie designed to be viewed as a good action film. Pretty much everyone who likes it only enjoys it in a "Man, this sure is a goofy movie" sort of way. It's not exciting at all. If people want to enjoy it for that then that's fine. Lord knows I only like STREET FIGHTER because it's hilarious and not because of its fight scenes. I just don't end up doubled-over in the same way while watching ROADHOUSE.
Now that makes sense. And frankly that's all I wanted to know.
Did anyone see Glover on that Sally Field show? How did he sound there?
Sally Field show? Was that one where she played a Supreme Court Nominee?
Here's hoping Glover can work with a vocal coach or something so he can deliver suitably grand statements as THE PRESIDENT in 2012. He's playing the President in that, right? Or else there's no reason whatsoever to see it.

Don't get what Cusack's doing in there, a big step down from Vince Larkin. Along the same lines I know (big dumb action movie) but come on John!
I don't know what happened to John Cusack. I never thought I'd see the day when he was relegated to DTV actioners like The Contract.
Glover being the president would make him the most unintelligable prsident we've had since....well the current one we've got.

And of course *Wailing Sax* instead of "Hail to the Chief".

I don't think so. It's the one she does now with Rob Lowe and Harrison Ford's petite wife. Glover supposedly got it on with Field on that show.
Yeah, there's an image I didn't want. Ewww.

Is it called Brothers and Sisters or some shit?
Maybe the Gibson controversy few years back was more than he could take. Some kinda stroke. Shiiit. you'd think after surviving a bomb strapped toilet he'd be a pretty tough cookie.
You're never the same after going through the trauma of having your john rigged to explode. Frankly, if you can't enjoy the moment of having a bowel movement. What can you enjoy? Nothing.
He sounds kind of normal in this clip.
And I guess he did this show after SHOOTER and BE KIND REWIND? Fingers crossed!

BROTHERS AND SISTERS is a goddamn piece of shit. Not even the presence of Glover is enough to make me watch another episode of that.
I don't suppose anyone here has had the honour of seeing Road House 2 in full DTV glory?

And speaking of Willis. Besides Perfect Stranger, let's not forget he also did an incredible A Few Nine Yards sequel.
Now now Felix, let's show Bruno some respect. It was THE WHOLE NINE YARDS that got a sequel, and no-one went to see it.

Easy mistake to make really, considering no-one gives a crap about that series. Let's just call it whatever we want!
I've seen Road House 2. And yes, I want a cookie.

I love The Corruptor as well. More so for Chow Yun-Fat but Wahlberg did his thing as well. The scenes with Brian Cox as the drunken father were some of my favorite.

He was top notch in Four Brothers which wasn't a bad film at all though the term "white boy" never quite felt so overused as it did when Tyrese called his other brother that. Other wise, a welcome step up for John Singleton who lost a few points with 2 Fast 2 Furious.

I've seen all the BEST OF THE BEST flicks. Though honestly, I only regret part 4.
I've seen SURVIVAL ISLAND and TIGER JOE. I want the gun after Ed's done with it.

Would you like the Magnum or the Soviet model?
Watched all of the "Up Series". Boy does it drag after 28!
I'll have to go with the Magnum. Go out in style!

Got my latest flick in the mail today---BLACK RAIN.

Been a long time.

Walter Hill's on pause.

One of my favorites from Ridley. Doesn't get the praise compared to his other films, mainly because it's just viewed as a routine cop flick. But to me Scott took a routine cop flick and added so much more than you're used to seeing. Love it.
ED you definitely need to watch MNEMONIC. Dolph Lundgren as a cyborg monk? Priceless, plus you'll get Takeshi Kitano with a laser wire.

I just want to throw in that Courteney Cox is absolutely uber sexy in 3000 MILES TO GRACELAND. And Costner is simply great as an Elvis loving asshole.

That's just quality, regardless of whether the film is good or not.
I honestly didn't know they made sequels to Wild Things. I only liked that one scene in the first one, c'mon guys, you know which scene I'm talking about. That's right, Kevin Bacon's ass. Swiggity.
Oh no! Was just browsing through play.com's soundtrack sale, nothing jumping out but lurking at the bottom of the second page is the CONAN soundtrack for a paltry 2.99!

But it's sold out! NOOOOOOOOOOO

3000 MILES is an entertaining film. With Kevin Pollack, Christian Slater, Howie Long and Kurt Russell, how can this flick not have something going for it?

Costner is evil to the core in this movie.

I remember watching the Animated prequel episodes on the net. Pretty good. Costner reprised his voice talent I think.

He was a solid villain in POINT BREAK and nice part of an ensemble in UNCOMMON VALOR but he just doesn't have "it" when it comes to carrying a film.

Glad he's still alive though.
what about Steel Dawn?

Watching THE ABYSS, loving Biehn's tache. A thing of beauty.

The Director's Cut? Or the Thearatical version?

I mentioned that a few pages back! I've watched a few bits and pieces of it simply because of Glover (it's shit!), and he has no real lisp. He plays it more "sage", as a Republican spin doctor who falls for feisty Democrat Sally Field. If only her dysfunctional brood would stay out of the way!

I also watched the final scene of ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD, in which Glover promises to adopt Joseph Gordon Levitt, but neglects to mention that he intends to also adopt Levitt's good orphan friend, the black JP. JP gets upset and runs away. Glover then reveals to Levitt that he also intends to adopt JP, and JP runs back in and they all hug and Glover is all going "HEH HEH YEH".

I don't know why Glover didn't just come upfront and reveal he was adopting JP too. Maybe he just wanted to make JP sweat a little. Asshole.
I think he did just make him wanna sweat a little. Using the little bit of power that he has!

I'll say it again, BROTHERS AND SISTERS is a steaming pile. It's nice that Glover's getting some TV work, but a better show would help!

I mean, I'm not saying he should show up in LOST or anything but I dunno, PRISON BREAK? 24? What's hot, my American friends?

Fuck it, bring SEALAB 2021 back or just create a new animated show in that style for Glover to lend his chords to. We don't need to see him, we just need the "HEH HEH YEH" etc etc

I may check it out. But I'm thinking I could probably just watch the Dolph parts on YouTube.
JOHNNY MNEMONIC is entertaining cyberpunk. I have fond memories of it simply because I won tickets to see it from the radio though (I had some creative mnemonic device that the DJ thought was funny). My dad came with me and it was great.

You really do have to appreciate the mono-filament whip thumb, bad Ice T acting and I think it even has Henry Rollins in it. It kind of reminds me of that old PC game Burn:Cycle (which actually only came out a year before MNEMONIC).
I've never actually seen Angels in the Outfield, but the trailer makes it look like a magical feel good classic. Also, Tony Danza is about the most unconvincing pitcher I've ever seen.

"heh-heh
YEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
heh-heh"

Someone glued Glover's eyelids shut! Who was it?? Danza? That rascal Lloyd?
Well Gene Shalit liked it.

Let's not mince words here, he loved it!

Still got THE ABYSS on, Biehn is flying off the rails fast.

Ha!

Re: THE ABYSS-think we all dig it. Great flick. Don't want to spoil it...but let's just say Ed Harris is pretty fuckin' awesome the last 40 or so (One scene in particular chokes me up every-time).

Anyone want to take a shot at defending either LEVIATHON or DEEP STAR SIX-the so-called Abyss rip-offs/cash-ins?
