Oh man, MySpace. Remember when that site was awesome? If you've logged onto there recently... it's awful beyond belief.

I've seen the trailer too and I'm less than impressed. Besides the lazy special effects, the story just doesn't do anything for me. There's more than enough alien invasion movies as of late as there is.

That breakdown on her looks doesn't surprise me for some reason.

I'll never forget the YouTube video of Pierce singing being posted here long ago and everyone laughing in disbelief, and I believe Hans Gruber's Eye Condition mentioning that all the other Bonds would get together and gossip and laugh if another Bond does something embarrassing.

The premise and the two stars sound awesome.

"From the Director of Daredevil and Ghost Rider"... not so much.

Here's a trailer I found just a little earlier. It's because (no lie) someone I know has a real bit part in the movie.

I won't give away who is the star, but let's just say he doesn't have much in common with The Rock.

Before Hunter says it... Rene, please don't say you like the first movie and please don't say you'll ever watch this film.

This sort of thing makes we die a little inside.

I haven't seen the first Tooth Fairy movie, but that part in the trailer where he uses the air horn on the cat, looked funny. Other than that, I had no intention of seeing it.

That's a nice article. Thanks for the link! I can't believe I've never seen Extreme Justice. Need to remedy that. I actually have a copy (taped off HBO) of his Public Enemies movie. A large portion of it was filmed here in the town I live in. It's a fun 'n' cheesy little B-movie.

CRAZY Mel is back!

Director Keoni Waxman sent this announcement with regards to Seagal's latest flick MAXIMUM CONVICTION.

Quote:

First off, thanks for everyone's interest Maximum Conviction and on behalf of Steven thanks to all the amazing support on the site.

The film stars Steven Seagal as John Cross and Steve Austin as his partner Mike Manning who decommisioning a military prison' come up against Michael Pare as Chris Blake . during the ensuing fight-and there alot of awesome fight sequences in Max Con-Cross and Manning are backed up by their special forces of Bradley, Jones, and Davie...( with kick ass Bren Foster playing Bradley) .

Steph Song ( check her out in Dragon Boys along with Byron Mann)plays Samantha and Aliya O'Brien plays Charlotte who are revealed as the two prisoners hidden within the military 'black site' that Blake and his mercenaries are after. simple plot to support an good old-school action film..

The distributors control all photos of Steven in action but iam sure those will be released soon.. He has some cool hand to hand fight sequences in the film-along with some great shoot outs that he choreographed him self -so you guys should be getting some good Seagal stuff soon..

As for the trailer, we wont finish shooting for another week so probaly not till the first of the year, sorry about that..

Again thanks for the interest in Max Con. Cheers

-- Keoni

A friend (who's also a fan of the original) assured me he loved Fright Night and that Farrell is great in it.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Rise, Elvis. Really, really great stuff that blew my expectations out of the water. The best Apes since the original and as good as what Nolan and Abrams did with Batman and Star Trek.

I still haven't seen the new John Carter trailer, but the first one was as interesting as watching paint dry. That's pretty sad too, as I'm a Taylor Kitsch fan. That guy could have a career playing sleazy villains or anti-heroes. This movie will either make that happen or break it.

Rene (Mr.Eko), Don't forget Taylor Kitsch also has...Battleship the Movie this summer!  It is too bad that Jennifer Lopez wasn't cast as a...REAR Admiral!  John Carter's...2nd Trailer is...Awesome, and should be watched...STAT!

MAX CON!

I'll join the RISE praise choir, just an amazing film that I can't wait to own. Definitely one of the best this year, and maybe my favourite (I'm not one for making lists)

I'm in the same boat as Rene, haven't seen the new JOHN CARTER trailer for the first one was zzzzzzzzzz. And then that poster came out... yeesh. They couldn't make it look any more boring if they tried!

All we need now is for Keith to return from his unknown whereabouts and some more regular Gruber appearances and we'll have a nice part of the B Action gang all back together.

duke fleed, I'd forgotten about Battleship: The Movie. I'm looking forward to that one after the gloriously cheesy trailer. Now that's how you sell a movie. The pins from the game being bombs!

Yeah I was surprised by that. By the way, if you didn't watch the trailer, Tooth Fairy 2 stars LARRY THE CABLE GUY. Of course, what a natural replacement for The Rock.

I saw Fright Night on the big screen and it wasn't awful but it wasn't tremendous either. Note that I still haven't watched the original so I can't compare the two.

Welcome back!

Sometime before the year is over with I need to finally see that Apes movie. Even though I haven't seen any of the previous movies before (not even the original '68 film) I hope to enjoy it as much as many in this thread did.

Welcome back, Russell! We've missed you.

Heard that the prologue for The Dark Knight Rises has gotten a rave reception. They really stress how great it looks in IMAX and how original the material is.

Pretty much.  Both are still re-inforcing Joon Kim's "Teal & Orange" color scheme conspiracy.

I don't believe Pirate 3 is the most expensive film ever.  If it is, then a whole lot of money disappeared because it wasn't on the screen.  We all know of Hollywood accounting, if the film is 'expensive' then they don't need to pay back investors.  Still, it makes no difference to us.

I'm still hopeful Pixar's first live action film will turn out OK.

That's an Icon logo at the bottom, Gibson's owns that company, right?  I guess this is another one he's paid for himself.  Here in the UK they self-distribute, so if they say Summer 2012, it's gonna happen.

WB will probably release it Stateside, if I had to guess.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

I do want JOHN CARTER to turn out well simply because of Pixar. I'm always rooting for those guys for whatever reason.

Mel looks real angry in that poster. Truth be told, i didn't even know he was doing this film untill you guys brought it up.

Anyson seen the new BATTLESHIP Trailer? They seem to be emphasizing the SciFi aspects of the film in this new one.

I had no idea of that movie either, felix. I'm probably the lone fan of Edge Of Darkness here, and this one looks to be pretty action packed, so I'll see it. The title sounds like an Ice Cube family movie.

felix, The new Battleship Trailer looks...Awe-Inspiring!  Battleship has now over...TAKEN, the other Liam Neeson action film in 2012!  Admiral Shane, is definitely one of the major reasons to see Peter Berg's Latest!  I am aware, I might be facing the...Wrath Of The Titans, for picking Battleship and Taken over the 2nd...Titanic Clash in...2 years!

A space squirrel!

Anyhow, I would be willing to write more stuff for the B-Action Column if content is an issue.

I'm pretty sure time is the main issue in regards to The B-Movie Column. Pretty sure Erix has been busy, as is Mike. I've had my busy days, but in a little over a week and a half, I'll have my Christmas Vacation!

Glad to know there's another fan of Edge Of Darkness here, kain. It's certainly a movie I found to be really good, as did Vanessa, and she even said she wanted to see it again, and we did once it hit the dollar movies.

Since I saw Horror Express the other day, I've been curious about revisiting Pancho VIlla with Telly Savalas in the title role, and Clint Walker and Chuck Connors as well. My Dad has it on vhs, and it's been years since I've seen it. I discovered earlier this evening that it's on Netflix Instant! It's in a fullscreen transfer, but at least it looks clear.

Since this guy's been mentioned for Thor 2, has anyone seen Daniel Minahan's Series 7: The Contenders?

I love love LOVE this movie.

It's in the (near) future, and people are selected at random to appear on a reality show where they have to hunt, or be hunted by, the other six contestants. It's surprisingly tense and really funny, especially when you realize it was made before Survivor and the reality TV show craze had hit America.

For some reason, You Tube only lets me embed a trailer dubbed in Spanish, but yeah, it's an awesome movie.

That's one I need to finally get around to seeing. I've known about it since around 2001 or so when I first read about it in Fangoria, and I've always wanted to check it out.

How I Spent My Summer Vacation immediately recalls Tiny Toon Adventures for me, but somehow I don't think this movie has Buster Bunny or Plucky Duck. And I have no idea what kind of vibe to get from it. IMDb says it's about "a career criminal nabbed by Mexican authorities...placed in a tough prison where he learns to survive with the help of a 9-year-old boy," but from those stills and that poster (and the fact that its R rating cites "strong bloody violence" and "pervasive language," this is not some family treat at all. Plus, Peter Stormare and Dean Norris (Lethal Weapon 2 reunion!)!

The focus of when we rebooted was to allow for more contributors outside of me, Erix and Rene, so I'd say as long as you've got something to say, chime us in and we'll throw something together.

We do have a special Christmas column planned, but it's not about THE Christmas movie.

I've seen it and it's pretty great stuff. Plays like The Running Man if it adhered closer to the book. What's so surprising is how this came out in 2001 and was only hitting at the infancy of the reality-TV craze, yet it seems to capture the whole ideology of it all so definitively. Great lead performance by Brooke "Is she a great big fat person?" Smith as well.

Are we doing A Christmas Story for The B-Column? If so, that is some leggy news.

I'm playing Uncharted 2 for the first time in preperation for Uncharted 3. Zoran Lazarevic is the greatest Steven Seagal movie villain to never be in a Steven Seagal movie.
