Wow. I wasn't expecting to see that, but I did laugh, for sure.

They have so far released the title of only one of the movies to be shown and it's a doozy: Commando in 35mm! Depending on what else they have lined up, I just might have to go this year.
Oh, you lucky SOB. I think you should go just because of Commando.
Here's another RIP, but one a little offbeat. Today LeRoy Neiman passed away. He's best-known for being a painter whose paintings were quite colorful and he painted many sporting events/figures. But he also did a famous painting of Sly, so that was why he was in the Rocky movies from III to Balboa. I believe the first three were as a ring announcer and he was as himself in Balboa.
It turns out, what I am watching now was written and directed by guys with Italian names but it's not on Netflix. I happened to channel-surf and noticed that an obscure movie was on The Movie Channel and I could continue my Cook-a-thon, so that's why I decided to watch the rather low-budget 29 Palms. I'll avoid any obvious jokes about the name of the film and why I am watching it. After all, right before it on the same channel played something called TEN INCH HERO. No, it's not softcore porn. Rather, the description says that it's about a sandwich shop. Still, I'll always laugh at that title.
It happens to feature many familiar names, like Jeremy Davies, Michael Lerner, Russell Means, Chris O'Donnell, Bill Pullman, Keith David, and for you Coen Brothers fans, there's Jon Polito. He plays a security guard and amongst many things, you get to see him literally shoot himself in the foot, refer to his dick as "my commander", and-ahem-"preparing his ten inch hero" as he's watching a girl use the bathroom via a security camera. Pleasant. I also found out that there was going to be a RAPE as that's what was said by the channel before the movie started.
Carlos Mencia (yes) is listed on the IMDb page but his role got cut from the film.
As for the movie... I heard online that it was odd and quirky (with me it can be tough to like something if it's odd and quirky) and it was compared to a poor attempt at being Tarantino and Lynch; I know that's trouble.
It turns out, there's a good reason why I'm typing this now as the movie's still going on. Despite some entertaining moments, I don't really like the film! I feel bad that I've struck out on watching a movie with her that I would rate as being at least good; I mean Scorched ended up being fine and Get Carter was alright-enough but otherwise... I believe she was even involved with the production of this so I don't want to be too harsh on it; it was just one of those odd and strange movies which is too quirky for me and sometimes makes zero sense; I mean, a bunch of unpleasant characters doing bad things, including yes a second movie involving Rachael where I saw her get raped/attempted rape. A lot of foul language, including too many F bombs. I saw someone compare it to Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels and I suppose that works, except that movie is great. I just mean that it's a small amount of characters who just happen to run into each other often.
For some reason, Pullman dressed, looked (in terms of hairstyle) and acted just like Crispin Glover! I swear it's true. That character was so odd I have a feeling they tried to cast him first but it fell through. Also, you get to see Keith David smoke some medicinal marijuana, which was amusing. Also, the scenery was nice; I don't just mean Ms. Cook. I mean the California scenery. I can't say I fully hated any of the movies I've seen her in; all of them had at least some amusing/fine moments. But, like I said, one day I'll watch something that puts a sub sandwich in my pants, and not just from her appearance but because it's a good film.
